Can't wait to run this ride this summer I got relatives that live up there out of jonesville Virginia they said I'm about an hour out like I said I can't wait to run it done the tail now I want to do the back it sounds like it's a great ride and it looks like fun

Another fantastic road! I'm looking forward to returning there next riding season. The variety of road type, and scenery along this road makes it worth a trip to ride it!

This is a great ride, beats hell out of the Tail in my book. The curve at about 2:15 is a great place to get a photo, you can get the bike, the rock wall and a couple of curves in the shot. One of the better half-day's rides I've had starts in Tazewell; go over the Back of the Dragon, stay on VA16 to US58, take that south to VA/TN91, follow that south to US421 ("The Snake") and take that up to Bristol. Too many twisties to count.

Thanks for those directions!! I rode the Head, Claw, Back and Tail last summer man and it was freakin AWESOME!! The Snake is another on my list!

My top 5 favorite rides In America 1. beartooth pass Wyoming and montana, million dollar hwy Colorado, hwy 170 Big Bend west Texas, chief joseph hwy Wyoming, and this awesome ride Back of the Dragon.

Wife an me are heading that way this weekend 10/09/2020 my heritage and her freewheeler. we will see how it goes... looks like a great ride

It is a really nice ride. The Visitor center in Tazwell is something to see. If you run into Jamie tell her wayne from America Rides Maps says hello.

I grew up in southwestern Virginia and learned how to drive on two-lane, mountain roads. I miss the fun drives with the windows down and music up.

I loved this road...both ways!! And it's a different ride too!! I cant wait to go back!!

Enjoyed this. Headed there in the next couple months. Just did NC GA TN and a little of NC. Can’t get enough!

This one's real good. I like to continue north on 16 into west Virginia. It has some great sections as well.
