I ended up going with a unit I got on Amazon, I don't remember the name but it was gold in colour. The thing I liked about it was it had a charger built right in as well as the little rubber bands to hold the unit in place. I want to say it was called an X Mount.

Hey Paul, thanks for all you videos. They are still helpful and relevant. One question, did you run the navigation sound through the bikes speakers? How did you achieve this? I bought a Garmin gps and I’m using the cool stream Bluetooth to connect the gps to the aux mode but I can only hear the streaming music but not the turn by turn directions. Any thoughts?

Hi Warren, I only look at the screen for navigating. Volume is off. I have never used the sound system on my bike so there is no connection from any other device.

You might want to follow up with RAM. They might even reimburse you for your replacement mount.

It's kind of a double edged sword. I contacted them and they will ship me out a replacement but I have to pay shipping. Since they are in the States and I am in Canada it is $13USD which is $17CAD and that is more than double what the unit is worth. I could have them ship to my USA mailing address for only $2.75USD and I would have to go get it. I suppose I will do it that way but I doubt I will ever use the smaller clamp as it could just break again, but maybe I can use it for something else.
