This is a walkthrough of a 2007 Fz6 clutch and oil replacement. I will encounter a few problems, and ill show how to fix these problems.
Also, this clutch replacement should be a similar process to many other clutches.

I just put on order a new shaft and push pin. I also ordered the lever arm from a FZ07 (which is supposed to be 10mm longer) . I will let you know if that lightens up the clutch

I bought an XJ6N (same as FZ6R but naked) it has 22k kms, i brought it to Yam and after that i heard a noise much louder.. seems to come from the clutch. If i'm lucky it's the clutch dampers if i'm not it's the bearing.. fingers crossed, i guess we'll see. At least i'll learn to work on the bike myself xD

Btw the noise is like a wobble, doesn't have highs/treble, only bass. Seems to be slower than the engine, happens only when hot (>95°C) and during decceleration from 2500 to 1350 RPM (idle). Really hot i can hear it at idle too

It’s the clutch cable routed the same as before? Did you try adjusting it? Is everything torqued correctly within the clutch assembly? Try to use some lubricant and see if it gets a bit easier

The cheap torque wrench was to blame. Seriously, 7 ft lbs dude, looking at how much you force you used.

Myo Zaw to be honest, I haven’t had enough experience with motorcycle clutch issues, but, it sounds like you should just change your clutch. Is it slipping or hard to put into gear whenever you are riding hard or ever?

AutoMotivate yes it is a bit hard to put in the gear 1-2-3 as well. Then when I drive it it get sound like “tat tat”. So what will it be happening? Plz let me know Thanks

Honestly, I like the R6. It’s just a bad ass bike. However, you you are going to be doing a lot of riding, the FZ6 is a good choice. Still fast; but a lot more comfortable

It was way more than 7 ftlbs. You hear it click and you kept going. I bet it was way more than 7 ftlbs before you touched the torque wrench

  • @AutoMotivate

Mike Tarsitano there's a dead zone in that wrench, and many people doing this job don't even use a torque wrench.

  • @NathanaelNaused

I have that wrench. When you set it to low torque values like that the "click" is very quiet/"weak". On higher torque values it's much more obvious. You just gotta feel for the slight give. I heard you hit the click too. It's an easy mistake. I made it before too.
