Motorcycle Adventure Australia - What are Aussie's riding?
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
In this 1,500 kilometre motorcycle adventure we tag along with Greg and Crash of the rideadv.com.au crew, to sample a couple of days of the popular Central West Tour of New South Wales.
Clubby takes his brand new cyan blue Yamaha Tenere 700 and I'm on a 2021 KTM890 Adventure R that I'm testing.
Clubby and I walk around and check out the various adventure set ups and bikes of the 40 riders. It gives a great insight into what Aussie's are riding and what they're doing with their bikes.
Lots of great scenery and a little action and a later laugh, where a hill climb has the rut of doom on the left that catches a couple of riders and Clubby takes his new bike for a little bathe in an extremely shallow mud puddle.

Well done Dave! As an American, I truly enjoy seeing the Aussie countryside and the varied terrain. Beautiful country! One suggestion for these types of ride videos would be to add a graphic/map at the beginning showing the general location of the ride for us non-Aussies. Cheers!

Sideshow here..... I was chatting to you blokes while you were devouring those cutlets at Condobolin. You asked me how I went on the big 1200 GS in the Mud! Happy to report I achieved my goal for the ride, which was to not drop it. Day 1 and 4 were the most challenging. These guys really are a professional outfit. The focus on Safety getting everyone through was admirable. At one stage I was at the back after a flat. TB was sweeping. He was very supportive of my goal to not drop it in terrain that bike was not intended to go through. Was patient with me, and pulled me up once for a briefing on techniques and lines to help me achieve my goal for the trip. As Arnie says "I'll be back".

Liked the Clubby Clip! Great job. It was like the NASCAR events when the announcers stop jabbering and the track microphones are turned on, and you can actually hear what you came to see! Bike sound, rocks clanking, and wind noise! "Crank it up!", they say. (meaning the tele-volume) Not saying you should zip it Dave; absolutely love the spirited commentary. Look forward to future Clubby Clips! And more... You guys Rock!

Love the video as always Dave. Thanks for giving the rest of us in the world an insight into your beautiful country and the other parts of the world that you ride. It’s a bummer that you didn’t have more time to explore the (what looks like) 690 Aurora Explor build just before the rider’s meeting that you had to attend. I have the 701 version of the same kit in the US and love it. I know of at least one fellow in Australia that has an Aurora kitted 701. They’re amazing builds and turn the bike into something the 701LR aspires to be. PS: Clubby needs to work on his helmet camera angle ;)

Nice one lads, a good mix of bikes and setups to drool over. Clubby's first video, 8/10 (slight tweak to the camera vertical angle and a wee bit of onboard commentary and it'll be a 10/10 , but I'm biased, I mean, he rides a T7, clearly the best bike there ;) ;)

Great to see a BMW F800GS in the mix, a bit of an under rated bike comes alive with a suspension upgrade, especially the forks. Very similsr weight to a T700, lower center of gravity. Cheap to buy secondhand.

Hi Dave. I have an idea for a type of video/review that currently does not exist. Test of fitment of differen luggage systems on different bikes. Say how does a Kriega OS-Base system fit different bikes. And how does Enduristan Blizzard fit different bikes and so on. I'm thinking also looking into straps flapping and such. Not so much a review of the bagagesystem as a travel companion, but more a fitment wise review of a system on different bikes. Just a heads up for content that dont exist on youtube :-)

You mentioned adventure riding growing rapidly which is plain to see when you hit the trails these days. I'm curious about the future of dirt tails and tracks across NSW and companies like RideAdv. As any NSW resident knows, if ppl are enjoying something, the Govt will close it off or restrict it even if they are public roads. Its a double edged sword... a growing sport but areas to ride dirt are only going to decrease...
