Have you visited again in recent years? It truly is a wonderful place. I adore going there
In 1974 I was working in NZ in design and had to do all illustrations for ads in both black and white and in colour to suit the different TV sets.....oh boy! Hence this black and white film.
Very strange that its in B&W in 1974. I remember watching this in colour on Blue Peter on TV. God knows how they managed to show a B&W film anywhere at that time. It's not been preserved well either.
Barbara Cartland used to spend time at Brooklands.
That the real focking best great racing circuits tracks. For open coffins cars.... so much Better than Indy 500 😥
old Fried and Dads mate John King here in 20s. He lived in Weybridge
Being a Brooklands racer Parry used to lean out of the right side of the car and line up along the bonnet. The drive chain came off the big sprocket you can see in this clip and took his head off.

Thanks Shaun. When I looked into this it seems the crash may have been due to the OSR wheel failing. Imagine hanging on to a brute like this at 180+.
"but Tomas was killed throw following year" and there is happy market music around....
Many faces, meet many name... That's my hero name, my real name is Oliver, Burton... Oh I forget

Fortunately, Montlhéry still exists.

Why was it buried?

the guy driving had his head sliced off by the drive chain. for his mechanics it was too gruesome to carry on so they buried the car where it crashed.
