Motor control with Raspberry Pi | L298N motor driver with Raspberry Pi

In this video, we will learn how to control a DC gear motor and stepper motor using a Raspberry pi board. For that, I used the L298N motor driver board.

What is the reason for removing the jumpers ENA-ENB from the L298N? Does it have something to do with the 5V output that is also connected to the 5V of the raspberry? or is to control the stepper?

i followed your exact instructions for 2 hbridges (4 dc motors, 2 each hbridge) but not working. I made sure to connect all grounds together, our buck converter voltage (external supply) is decreasing dramatically when we connect grounds adn the - terminal of the buck together. Do you have an idea why?

why you need the breadboard? coudnt you wire the motor driver and the other components directly to rasberry pi ?

My raspberry BROKE DOWN after trying your solution. I verified the pins correspondance several times and I confirm I used the same as yours... The raspberry went of suddenly and now it is not booting anymore, the ACT led is off. I guess I will have to buy a new one, I've tried several solutions but non of them work... Do you know what could go wrong? Form the answers on the net it seems to be an overcurrent but I can't see where is the source of the issue, as the connections are correct.

Apparently the jumper for the 5V regulator should be removed if applying more than 12V, and in this case we need to provide this 5V for the VCC through the raspberry, as you do. But in the video we can see the jumper is on ! So I am confused...
