I was at this concert. Day on the Green at the Oakland Coliseum. Motley Crue were the headliners. Whitesnake and Poison also performed.

That was awesome; they sound awesome here; GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS is the best of the three "Hair Metal" records after the power-pop-metal-hard rock-glam-punky debut and SHOUT. It's the third real "L. A." album that discussed Motley's violent lives and the vibe of "L. A." in the 1980s. THEATRE and DR are more generic Hard Rock songs about sex or good times or ballads. GIRLS sounds like a sleazy rock band going through real life experiences and writing about it. The best example of this type of record was released soon after GIRLS and that's GnR's APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION, probably the masterpiece of the genre.

Hold up a minute! The Bass Guitar line is being heard, in the early part of the song...but Nikki takes a moment to salute the Girls, as it were, and he's not even playing Bass at that point? Hmmmm.....I think we have more evidence here, folks, that they're synching moves to a pre-recorded track. If that's what I'm seeing, then it gives all the more credence to what Mick Mars was saying, here in more recent times.
