He used the power rule: d/dx of x^n = nx^n-1
i have an equation s(t) = =3t^2-15t t>=0 and i ant to know that when the particle is speeding up and slowing down

if velocity and acceleration have the same sign, it speeds up. Otherwise, it doesn't.
