It's kind of weird to think that we might be seeing what "angel" sees. Like, yeah, we see it as PS1 graphics and such in the game, but it never really occured to me that _that's literally what the AI sees the real world as in it's vision._ What a surreal concept...

Ayoooo Mothered video from you! I don't know if you made this video because of my comment on your subreddit, but I'm so glad you did! Before this one, there was only one video talking about the story of the game that I could find, so this is awesome to see! Great video as always yo Not sure if you've seen all the dialogues brother has to offer in your gameplay of the game, but any time a blue light is coming from brother's room, that means he has something to say. The first night you come to the house, you can approach brother's room and hear him cry. Few days later he will tell you how mother has been feeding you dirt for breakfast before you find out by yourself. Way to reach the real ending is by paying very close attention to the dialogue from Mother when she was speaking to Father in the orchard via phone, she hinted that she will leave her bedroom doors open at Friday Evening. So instead of approaching the statue in the graveyard, you instead go back inside the house, enter Mother's bedroom and hide in the closet. Once you enter the closet, you will be able to hear what Mother and Father were arguing about in the room, which will give you a hint on how to open the downstairs bathroom in the next playthrough. I like the part near the end of the game when it's day and when you click on the bed, it will say "you cannot sleep when someone is in your room" even tho you cannot see anyone in there, same text that appeared when Mother was in your bedroom in the darkness. But yea I hope you liked the game and the way it tells it's story! Hopefully you check out the hidden dlc of the game that's in the Haunted PS1 demo disc 2022 collection, because ho boi, visuals get crazy in that one.

The story of this is expanded on a secret DLC-Sequel in the Haunted PS1 Demo Disc 2022 as well as the developers first game Enigma Machine and it's soon to be released game Echostasis which has a demo on steam.

just imagine being stuck with the mind in a robot were you have no control is so horrifying.

Its very sad that there daughter die. But making a robot to take her places isn't the right thing to do. There is no replace-sing someone with a robot, it jade never be the answer for J a thing. A person is a person not a robot. A robots cant replace a person no matter how much they want too. It is not that person no matter how hard they try to do so. Its very sad but very true. Also why do it? They tried over and over again and it never works because its not that person, it will never be that person no matter how hard they try. She is dead, there is no coming back from that. I think that they both need therapy not a robot daughter. Also its not fair on there son who needs to live and have a life of his own not being lock up in his bed room all the time. They need to do whats best for him not a robot who isn't there daughter and never will be at all. There son jade come first not last

I played this a while back and it has stuck with me ever since. Was debating on playing it again today actually & then your video came up, which is interesting

One thing you didn't touch on is the fact that kill 'angel' before it can become fully sentient because they don't want to create a consciousness only to trap it in a body with other consciousness's. They are not technically in the right but they have a minimum ethics level that they won't go below which gives them a higher level of decency than most antagonist's and makes then extremely compelling.

The trippiest part for me was realizing what was in the box during the opening.

@munecookeez5906 I can't tell if you're legit asking, or making a reference to seven...or referencing the achievement in this game that's referencing that part in seven. But in case you're really asking, it's the previous iteration of the main character. So anytime you start over after beating the game with the bad ending the body of the previous robot is in the box and you are giving it to the "dad" to dispose of.

A robot shouldn’t harbor a person memory it should harbor a soul…. In the creation of another life… While it may remember its old life… it will realize its current life is worth..

What I found crazy about this game is how much scared I was of the Universe and the Mother until SHE told me that SHE was scared of me. The switch flipped and I was then way more curious about everything. Very cool!

I felt sorry for Liana from beginning to end, she was tormented. in the mothered game, she is tormented by trying to perfectly resemble a human, but unfortunately her mother is always afraid of Liana, who always acts like she is not human. then in the Enigma Machine when Liana turned identity red she was tortured to become a robot but unfortunately she was always get contaminated because of that she was turned into a dem0s program there her torment was not over yet she was made into a dem0s training program. This game changed my view of AI until I forgot the bad impacts that AI can create

It's littirally 3AM with the lights turned of so I'm exited to watch this

Also fun fact on Tuesday if you go to the brothers room he will actually say something

I watched 8BitRyan's video and I never watched it again. Maybe it's the quality and the movements that freaked me out, maybe it's the storyline that makes me on edge but whatever the reason this game is terrifying.

But was Liana there at some point? In the graveyard, is it Liana's core speaking, or is it Angel autonomously thinking?

Liana tried to speak, calling her mother, but 'Angel' was not responding. Also, in the barn when 'Angel' brought the knife, Liana was calling to stop 'Angel'

It is not that person no matter how hard they try. It will never be that person what so ever. There son needs a life not being lock up in his bed room all the time. Sorry, I just kind of feel bad for the characters we play as, cause we are litterally placed in their shoes? I know a Robot or AI unit isn’t the same as a Human life, and probablly doesn’t have A “Soul”, but do you really have to be so harsh?😞

Also, Some of its tendencies are more Human then Robotic. Like, most robots or AI aren’t going to rebel against programming(That is something that only happens in Sci-Fi or Cyberpunk movies)You know who would rebel when given a direct order? Most Humans over, like 5.

@@user-nc5ld8km8q No, you've got a huge point. The problem here isn't that they've adopted a human-like AI. It's that they expect it to BE their daughter, so even if it gains sentience, it doesn't matter. It's not her, so it's a failure. It would be no better than adopting a kid and expecting them to be just like your deceased daughter. Or less human, adopting a dog or cat and expecting it to be your daughter.

Everytime there's a story about a dying child turned into an android, you know it's going to be fcked in the end. There's nothing to gain other than more pain and suffering for that family. I think the game is really good despite having quite a common plot (android-turned-sentient), but the twist here is that most of us somehow felt sympathy for the "mother".

Its explained during the graveyard segment that the entity doesn't process the world and its information in the same way that humans would. The strange way voices work, the very broken and robotic look and movements, are all the best that it can make of the real world as its functional understanding of what is happening is so very different from our own. Even the day transition screens are actually something it is experiencing and (sorta like us the players as we get used to them) doesn't question as its just a part of its way of perceiving reality.
