How did you find the value of the capacitor to be replaced? I mean, is the value of the capacitor being replaced the same as of faulty capacitor? How do we find this value? I do not see any value or code marked on the ceramic capacitor ...

you can use multimeter under microfarads setting

@@LetsFixThatGadget You are right we could use a multimeter (or capacitance meter ) to measure the capacitance of a functional or healthy capacitor. However, the question is whether the multimeter or capacitance meter could measure the capacitance of the faulty capacitor particularly the one which is short circuited? Otherwise, to repair such a board, we need to have the circuit schematic of the board ...

@@yasir9909 remember capacitors are just filters to the voltage and hence you don’t have to be very accurate.

What do we really me by “a short circuit laptop. I mean when do we say a laptop is shorted

On any circuit, positive should never meet with the negative. Short circuit is when positive meet the negative. In simple terms, when a live wire touches the negative, a short circuit occurs. If power is more sometimes you will see sparks and fire. Am just trying to break it down so it’s that it’s easy for you to understand. I hope you got it

Would the laptop work without the capacitor? I mean if we just removed the faulty capacitor and not replaced it.

Yes. Capacitors are just voltage filters
