Growing up in America, recipes for cooking fish were fairly consistent across the states and they would be considered bland, if you will, by today's palate. The use of malt vinegar and tartar sauce was what typically gave the pizazz. Duck Commander's use of mustard, which we can now buy in assorted flavorful blends, is a great idea and addition. Thank You, Si and family!

Good stuff, but I’d like to mention to anyone taking pointers on frying food. . . Stone has it backwards when he says to throw the fish into the oil immediately after dredging to ensure crispness. When you immediately throw anything in oil after just dredging it, most of all the flour immediately falls off oil in the oil an ur oil becomes cloudy and burns sooner. For crispier fried meat, dredge it, put it on a rack and let the flour set for a minute or two. Trust me, there will be much more crispy outside on whatever meat you are frying. Also, another no no when frying is to put your fried food onto a paper towel. When you immediately put hot oily food onto a paper towel, the towel

I like a corn flakes and crushed fried cheetos breading on my crappie fillets baked,and on the side a mustard/ketchup dip. Although your recipe fried mustard sounds excellent too.
