I mean really, the only similarities are that there is a crazy dad that finds two lovers creeping in the hayloft.. which is kind of implied by the songs story. In fact in the earlier version your friend made, daddy didn't even have a gun (gagagagaga)....

Actually, When I first listened (Before hearing the music video), I literally thought they were having passionate sex when it said "Lovers with their legs tied up in knots", and poor bf (assuming the other person is the male in this situation) had to pull his pants up and hide his "Shame" as he runs from daddy and his gun.

I haven't seen many people commenting bout this, but I love how they still kept the characters somewhat androgenous so the viewers could still interpret what they like. I feel like that was a key point with the song and I'm glad they incorporated that into the video

@@R.ivy.violeta It means they are both masculine and feminine in appearance to the point tue can appear to be either. The lovers both appear androgynous in the video so you the viewer can imagine any scenario (boy/girl, girl/girl, boy/boy etc) you imagine the song being about :)

I love how the music video is so much like the song lyrics. Normally other music videos have a different story that the song, but the video goes along with the story especially well. Edit:I saw the second video and it was awesome also
It’s so amazing to me to see a music video for Hayloft after all these years, and it’s exactly like what I picture hearing the song. Tiktok does great things for artists that deserve appreciation, as much as some people might say otherwise.
