not gonna lie, this is the MOST healthiest mother in law and daughter in law relationship I have ever experienced. being the daughter of a bengali family, i can say firsthand, these relationships are REALLY RARE! HATS OFF TO YOU GUYS!! the sweetest non toxic family every!! I LOVEEE UUU GUYSSS!

I’m just as close with my Mother in law as well and it’s more like we’ve know each other for ages but it’s all down to the man and how he balances and brings his wife into the family. You do represent the mother of all Asian mothers who were "adjusting" abroad, raising a family, and ensuring the right ethics, morals, and values are imbibed in their children. I know how important it is for us Asians to make sure we do not drift apart from our culture. From 37.09 onwards I felt my 90s story of seeing my parents going through similar challenges flash in front of my eyes!

That comment by Mamajaan at 19:00 about knowing as a parent of adult children that you're not overstepping boundaries is EVERYTHING. That's how you make sure your adult children still want to be around you. Our parents interfered and criticized our partner so much that we barely see them now. Also, love that they're doing conscious parenting! We've done it from the beginning and our 8 and 5 year olds are rockstars!

Best MIL she knows how to maintain healthy relationships.

This made me so emotional🥹Mamajaan did such an amazing job raising you and your siblings. My parents raised my brother and I from the beginning what’s right and wrong, values and cultures to make sure we never forget our roots since my brother and I grew up in Canada. We need mother in laws like her. I love how she was so accepting of your marriage despite Puja is from a different faith and culture. I pray every girl gets a good relationship with their mother in laws. I get that some Desi MIL’s can be stereotype especially Pakistanis like myself when it comes to their son’s partner and saying they are not good enough for them and controlling them to marry who they choose for him. He has to fight between his happiness or his family. This gives me hope and parents do come around. The most important thing is the child is happy which is all it matters rather than following a tradition❤️

This video also makes me feel like I should actively make sure I’m true to myself and not the people in my surroundings. Like my friends are constantly attending parties and we put our son first so we miss out on a lot. But I also don’t feel like I should change how I want my relationship to be with my son.
