Love your channel and what a cool adventure to take with your mom! What kind of boat are you sailing? I live here in Charleston and do some sailing here as well....keep up the adventure!

That young lady is lucky to have SUCH a mother.

Doing so well..definitely deserve to be called, “Captain”. Can see you and your mom have the same “can do” spirit. Enjoy going along with you guys.

I started watching Sailing Doodles and no one in my house cared but one you came on my 5 girls (16, 7, 5, 3, 1 years old) now only want to watch you. Thanks for inspiring them and giving us all a reason to cuddle on the couch together.

How lucky you are to have such a beautiful tribe.

Two words.......”well done” !!! Especially when the weather picked up near the end of the sail. I applaud the way you didn’t panic ( not on camera anyway ! ) when slight “hiccups” occurred- such as headsail not raising smoothly, you realised there was a problem , identified it, fixed it and carried on 😊👍

Taylor, you are going to become a fine captain. Also, I liked your footage toward the end which showed the movement of the boat really well, such that a viewer can get an idea of the seas as you were experiencing them. Another video well done. Glad mom is okay.

We learned the hard way on a cruise. Before embarking start taking dramamine and then take it regularly whether you think you need it or not. Don't skip! (This from the ship's doctor.)

Alternator: Sometimes the brushes get hung up, especially when they are getting close to the end of life. I’ve been able to bring an alternator back to life by tapping it...this frees up the brushes so they make contact with the commutator. It’s definitely not a long term solution but might help you in a pinch.

Congrats on successful first sail off shore with mom.. I was in US Navy and was on Carrier and loved the sunsets sunrises and beautiful stary nights out on look out watches

Taylor don't ever doubt yourself regarding anything! This is how you build confidence in whatever you do whether it be sailing or otherwise. Able seaman mom is wonderful and I know she's so proud and happy for you. "The only limits we have are the limits we place on ourselves" I admire you on many levels. Remember, "steady as she goes, always" PS: Mom's beautiful too! Tell her: "don't be nervous don't be shy just bend over the rail and let it fly....."

I think what you are doing is very courageous and life boundary expanding. People have told me, when that happens, to take a hammer, and lightly tap on it, and it can start charging again. If its the starter, same thing, give it a tap with a hammer, and it starts working again. And as crazy as it sounds, it actually works a lot of the time Virgil

amazing trip it was calm with no waves but I could see there was a ground swell looked to be one or two foot. that's enough to get a green horn stomach upset. some anchorages are like that too where the swell wraps in and gently rolls the boat..
