Sometimes people make bad choices and foster care can assist a child who is stuck in the middle of those bad choices. My parents are not bad people just made a bad choice when they were young. All I'm saying is this could have been a bad choice.

I think this mother has lied so much that she has convinced herself that she has done nothing wrong. I feel bad for the young girl. It's no wonder she has trust issues. You can tell Judge Lake always feels these results to her core. She's one of the best empaths I've ever seen.

Its frustrating to hear parents say ‘I’m your mom and dad’. First of all a child needs both parents growing up and secondly you didn’t make the child by yourself 😤😤

Mother was too young and gave her and her sister up for adoption. She never went to jail the father did.

The mother was overstating her accomplishments.

How is it possible that this judge demonstrates compassion & empathy on every session along with common sense and great advice...She is an excellent role model 💗

I just want to hug this young woman! She feels weak because of what she been through and her postpartum depression, but she truly is the picture of strength and determination. Because it takes real strength of character in confronting that mother of hers and this man who she thought was her father whose been in and out of her life. And she is who she is standing there today in spite of that mother of hers and all her lies. I hope she finds out the identity of her real father. I truly do.

Worse mother I've seen on here for along time (and that's saying something). All the excuses in the world for her actions but still trying to make the young father 16/17 years old feel bad for his actions. Does not care about her daughter at all!!!!

I agree. She is I reckon the worst mother ever on PC in its history. She was actually SMILING at the end. There is no question other than whether she is inherently evil, or certifiably insane.

THANK YOU. Wow. I'm shocked that this goes over all of these peoples heads. Men signing the BC knowing they aren't the father is foolish and wreck less. You can still be there for the child without signing. I honestly think that she told the first dude he was the father and that's why he signed.

No, unfortunately, many see that certificate as the way to get money. If they know who daddy is, if they can't convince him to sign, they'll find another possibility or they will give the court a list of possibles and each one has to submit to a DNA test.

When she spoke my heart felt so much for her. I went through the same thing and it is horrible to have parents that can’t get along. My parents hated each other with a vengeance

Mom sure has a lot of pride in her parenting for someone who's child was in foster care and still doesn't know who the father is.

You are not mom and dad. Stop that foolishness.

This one broke my heart! And the Mom saying that she is her Daddy is ludicrous! No parent can take the place of another! You can only be the best Mom or Dad that you can be for your child! It’s damaging to tell your child that you can be both! And I really believe if the Mom had stopped talking to actually listen to her daughter’s thoughts she would hear her heart on how not knowing her Father has caused her much pain. 💔💔💔 I hope she can find peace as well as find her biological Father.

How this Judge gets, through the day with all the comforting, cheering up and giving solace to these people is an ADMIREABLE MYSTERY to me! BIG UPS and, Kudos Judge Lake for doing a GREAT JOB!

I feel for this young woman, I pray for her and hope everything in her life works out, she is a strong woman and clearly a better woman than her own mama!!

Mama Craig is a full blown mess! What does she mean she doesn't understand why her child is still looking for answers?? Sitting up there with her arms folded and got an attitude with this man like this ain't all her fault! I believe Mr. Thompson's version of the story. Poor Shanelle! I wish women knew how much they hurt their kids in these situations.

Poor baby girl. I pray she gets a chance to meet her father. Breaking a cycle is hard but she seems very strong. Praying for her and her family.
