I've seen this too many times. Carry multiple bowls for the cats, they don't have to be expensive bowls. When you attempt to feed multiple cats from one bowl you create a food anxiety situation that you now have to solve by holding back the mother. If you use multiple bowls you can avoid this. Also consider that the kitten will eat food now and will also drink milk from the mom. Whereas the kitten will have two sources of food, this will be the mother's only opportunity to eat and breast feeding takes a toll. She needs additional sustenance for constant breast feeding. LOL. Don’t you realize that these people live in a tiny flat with a herd of cats that they have already take off the streets? They don’t make the money that we do here in the West to be able to save every feral cat they see. Feeding them daily probably has already taken a big chunk out of their paychecks. Why don’t you put your money where your mouth is and donate to them monthly so they can help more of these cats?

well of course the mother deserves more food and you shouldn't restrain her. She has to FEED the kitten non stop and the kitten is draining her. She has to eat more food to provide MILK, you should let her eat first. If the kitten doesn't eat she will still suckle the mom cat and survive, but if the mom doesn't have enough food she will die. not to mention she's clearly been feeding the kitten all the time. This kitten is selfish, you can tell after she finished all the wet food she's covering on the dry food and doesn't allow the mom to eat. If this is my cat mom always eats first.
