Mother might have gotten in the way
My guess is the dad killed the mom during a fight and the kids killed him in retaliation. "My mom--I never ever would have done anything to hurt her." "You guys seriously think we'd kill our own mother?!" Yet nothing about whether they'd kill their dad... Merely speculation, but seems pretty probable.

That’s definitely what they were leading us to believe but not what happened. It ended up being the dad’s business partner. He wanted the boys to go down for the murder because then he had nobody in his way and he’d control the entire company.

Why the apostrophe in Sons? We have to stop just throwing in apostrophes because a word ends with S, people. We're trying to have a society here.

LITERALLY. I live in NS and you can maybe get an apartment for that price (but the landlord probably won’t lease it to you he’ll lease it to someone he can charge up), maybe with utilities included ! Rent is pathetic in Canada, most people have owning apartment buildings as their 2nd job or “side hustle” people in Canada make it their whole life and end up taking other peoples means of living in order to keep their places going.

I hate to be that person, but it's "Sons," not "Son's." "Son's" is short for "Son is." I don't think you meant to say "Are the Son Is to Blame?"
@mpb3481

Yes, “sons” is the plural form of “son.” But “son’s” is possessive case as in “son’s motive” or “son’s school.” It isn’t short for “son is” in the way “it’s, that’s, she’s, he’s” are contractions for “it is, that is, she is, he is.”

Just been watching Law and order Season 20 Episode 12....Bad casting. Raúl Esparza, playing an Extortionist and yet in Law and Oder SVU, he was District Attorney. Bit daft to cast him in Law and Order as a wrong 'un and in SVU as the good guy.

below Karl Jarmon, the owner of a printing company, and his wife are murdered at home. The victims' sons Nick and Greg are the obvious suspects, and their alibi is difficult to prove. The detectives learn that Jarmon had been violently abusing Nick and Greg since childhood. This gives them a motive, so they are charged with murder. But Logan is convinced there's more to the story. Nick and Greg seem to have not wanted their mother dead, even though that would mean she inherited the company instead of them. Logan thinks someone else may be involved. Schiff wants to take a closer look at Jarmon's business partner Alex Petrovich. Stone and Robinette soon discover that Petrovich is connected to the Russian Mafia. He used Mafia money in a debt refinancing scheme to try to buy out Jarmon's share of the company. But this left Petrovich in an untenable situation where he risked being unable to pay the money back, and/or Jarmon snitching on him. The only way out would be to kill Jarmon and get his sons convicted, so the rest of the business would go into a trust and Petrovich could sell the company. Petrovich is charged and his associate Sasha Osinski is detained as a material witness. Osinski's lawyer negotiates a deal for immunity in exchange for his testimony. On the stand Osinski says Petrovich confessed to the murders and asked for a false alibi. Subsequently, Osinski is arrested - the immunity deal covered New York County, not New York City, so Osinski can be tried in Brooklyn where he took part in money laundering. The jury convicts Petrovich.
