2008 FA cup is a memorable tournament for me, most of the Premier League teams eliminated in earlier round, only 4 teams in quarter final (Man United, Portsmouth, Chelsea, Middlesbrough), and then left only 1 team (Portsmouth) in semi final.. Never see this scene again after that.

Remember watching my late grandad jump up with at the end result. Loved seeing his face smile and how ectsatic he was. I was in shock but happy we won.Definitely one my favourite memories watching our beloved Barnsley win at anfield

remembered watching this on tv. was really, really frustrated liverpool lost it in the dying seconds of the game. the barnsley 'keeper was superb on that day. save after save. liverpool just just couldn't get another goal and got punished in the end. credits to barnsley, though. it wasn't easy beating liverpool at anfield at that period of time.

love it how howard just kept on going and didn't hassle and pursue the ref. great player

Still hard to believe the final literally turned out to be Cardiff vs Portsmouth. And also the fact that Barnsley were the conquerors of Liverpool and Chelsea

The greatest cupset of recent years in my opinion given location and circumstance.

I was there in the barnsley end as a young lad, my grand parents were season ticket holders at BFC for 50+ years. My team is Derby County (Dad) but as a lad if i wasn’t going to derby i used to go and watch Barnsley. Im now a season ticket holder for derby and have been for many years but that away day is still up there in the top 3. Fond memories and always will have a soft spot for the tykes

I am an LFC fan and can't believe how poor we are in domestic competitions when you see how well we generally play in Europe, but have to say hats off to Barnsley and especially to Luke Steele - what a performance! Would swap him for Itandje. This is turning out to be the most interesting FA Cup for years; it's just a shame we've contributed to the drama in the wrong way. Hope you do the same to Chelski!

We went to Anfield in 82 in the League Cup backed by 10k away fans 0-0, we to anfield in PL in 97 and won 1-0, we went to anfield in the FA Cup in 08 and won 2-1, never underestimate us Tykes anfield is fearless for us

That was the first Liverpool Match I ever saw live....not at Anfield..but the first game I saw on TV that wasnt tape delayed.

It should have been a Barnsley FC v West Brom final, look at the state of Pompey & Cardiff now, they were over spending and now look like going bust. Both Barnsley & West Brom are well run clubs and deserved to be in the final on merit, not on credit.

@racewalkingrules This is exactly my opinion. I am a Manchester United supporter, but why should the Premier League teams get a free pass through the opening rounds? Why should United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, et al enter the tournament later on while smaller, lower-budgeted teams have to fight through extra games to survive? Part of the reason why we keep seeing the same old clubs in the final rounds over and over and over

yea, as a chelsea fan i was wasnt disappointed when barnsley beat chelsea cuz the last 5 or so years, the fa final was always livepool, or chelsea or man u or arsenal. so i was happy when portsmouth played cardiff. it was something different.

At the end of the day yeah Barnsley may have been lucky but they went out onto that pitch with pride. Being a lower division team they put their heats and souls into the game and played with passion. Liverpool may have went out there with the belief that it would be an easy victory against a lower division club. But this is football and more importantly this is the FA Cup, anything can happen! Barnsley put everything into it and despite what people say, they deserved to win the match! ~Dan~
