Because it does, everything before or after that date matters today as it must have for these guys.

Of course it does, if it's around that time or just after. Lemmy wrote a lot about war, he'd been interested in reacting to a (fake) war like this. It's also interesting, if it's immediately before that day.

The war didn't start until 2003. Also, I don't know what song they are rehearsing. If you know which song it is then you could deduct if it's before or after, if you apply your reasoning. Also, 9/11 doesn't have any direct effect on a band rehearsing.
