One thing you gotta respect Motorhead for is they still fucking rocked this song out like there was 100,00 people there....all of the band too. The lame ass crowd did not affect their commitment to their mission. I guess that is why they lasted, they truly didn't give a shit what people thought about them.

You have to remember that Motörhead were a household name in the UK in the early 80s. They regularly appeared on kids TV shows and - believe it or not - were often featured in teeny pop mags like Smash Hits. Between 80 and 82 they were a huge act.

Such a killer band.Great raw footage too. I’m just imagining how loud that was with 6 100 watt full stacks on stage. Lemme might have even been using the 200 watt Marshall major amps. That’s a LOT of volume. I play with one full stack and it’s louder than hell. I saw them in the early 2000s at an outdoor amphitheater show and it was so loud that they were getting noise complaints from the nearby airport 😄😄😄 you could hear Motörhead over the sound of jets taking off 😄😂😂 That’s become my musical goal. To be so loud you can hear my band over departing jet airliners😂😂😂😂

Lemmy said somewhere that the neighbors of this lot werent too happy. They rehearsed this first at like 8AM, Im guessing at the same volume, and its a bit much for some English folk I would say. but I love this version because you can hear just how FUCKING LOUD THEY WERE. Even in open air as they are!!

We played with this line up of Motorhead in New Zealand and I simply cannot relate in mere words just bloody loud the soundcheck was. Standing next to the drum kit and every time the kick drum was struck, my head felt like it was being rocketed about 3 meters up in the air. Sort of like being in an ultra-fast lift. I just could not comprehend how it was going to be possible for the four of them to play a set with that level of stage volume.

This reminds me of the first, and only, time I saw Motörhead. The Netherlands, Leiden, 1982. I totally wasn't into hardrock. Queen (best band ever btw) was the loudest I liked. But a friend I was visiting bought a ticket for me, and we went. I didn't know what to think about it, but I was there, not knowing what a legendary concert I attended at the moment. Now, 40 years later, and a Motörhead fan now, I am so happy that friend took me to see Motörhead then.

By 1984 we can clearly see now after almost 40 years /4 decades gone that it was still directly connected to the prior 70’s …. But like myself if you’re there in 1984 it was miles , light years from the 70’s , I do remember in 1984 looking my mothers magazine from 1976 and it to me looked like light years behind like centuries, but if you look it now it was only 4 - 5 years from the 70’s and l do remember my mother mentioning the RollingStones and they also seamed like as pre historically as dinosaurs 🦖 like the rolling stones has been playing Rock’n’Roll for 20 years , it seamed a such old and prehistoric that some band has been together for 20 years and now I look anything 40-50 years and it seams so young and fresh … everything I remember has at least 30 years ago , and it seams to me it was only yesterday’s, it’s really amazing how the whole perspective changes as you grown older !

Is this really from Saturday Starship, a kids TV programme? Ha ha. I suppose that would explain the lack of audience reaction.

Yes it really was; it was first thing live on Saturday -Motörhead were playing in a Birmingham car park near the the studios I guess. Tommy Boyd and Timmy Mallet! I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. You can tell it was extremely loud! I saw three of the four numbers before I had to go out that day😢
