I’ve rarely gone without polish since I was about 13 so I’ve been through a lot of phases but the most consistent color in my collection has been blue. I’ve gone from the bright teals I wore when I was really young, to some cobalt and sparkly shades in high school but now that I’m 20 and in college I’ve been loving navy. It’s a real chameleon for nails. It goes from looking very polished while dressed up to quite edgy when I’m just wearing jeans and converse and I love that versatility.

I love the final comparison (5:36-5:53) between the different shades, it really shows the difference between the different shades very well! My favourite and most worn shades during the last year are: - Essie Allure - Essie Ballet Slippers - Essie Sugar Daddy - Essie Wicked I am always on the hunt for the perfect classic red nail polish, that I can't seem to find. But after this video I think Essie Forever Yummy might be the one! Thank you for the great content :)

I love seeing what other people like to put on their nails even if we don't have similar color choices. I love bright or unusual colors on my nails. I have really been loving Cirque Colors because they are everything I want in a nail polish brand, they have fun unusual colors and some more classic shades.

It’s because of you and your nail videos that I take pleasure in taking care of my nails, polish or not. It’s also because of your recommendations that I’ve tried Olive & June, as well as Essie’s Gel Couture, and I cant get enough! I bought ELF’s concealer brush as a cheaper alternative for the cleanup after polishing and it works great. Thank you for making videos!

We have similar tastes in nailpolish brands and colors! I recently went to Japan and picked up a couple nude/pinks from Nailholic and their formula is fantastic. I highly recommend. : )

My favourites are all Essie, Not just a pretty face, Sugar Daddy and Really Red. Can't go wrong with those! I actually never got on the Ballet Slippers hype train, I feel like for my Mediterranean tone skin, it's a little too light and comes out looking white and grating

I tend to lean towards either brighter colours - bright greens, blues, purples, pastels - pastel yellow (which is on my nails right now), baby blues and lilacs, or a classic white, black or brownish nude, but i do love a good lighter, more pink-toned nude or a deep berry red too! I tend to want something new a lot, so I like switching up my colours often. Your videos are so calming and great to do my nails while listening to, love from Western Australia 🤍

There’s no good place nearby for me to get my nails done so I’ve been doing them myself since more than an year and I always receive compliments. Manicure is supposed to be fun and relaxing but my first experience gave me nightmares; never getting my nails done ever again. Also, if anyone is looking for inexpensive alternative, L’Oréal Paris makes great polishes! They are seriously underrated!! Lovely video Matilda 😍

I prefer using colourful nail polishes like pinks, golds and glitters since nails is my way of expressing fun and creativity. I used to get my nails done in the salon (usually gel nails) but I've been going less because its expensive and I rather do my nails at home which is relaxing and fun. I got the essie gel couture polishes on your recommendation and I'm so amazed! I've never had a more seamless application with any nail polish before and the finish is so glossy! Before, I'd had issues with polishes bubbling and wrinkling even hours after applying but these have lasted so well!

I’m a nail polish addict and have over 100 in my collection from over the years. I never like to stick to one color family for too long! I’m always changing colors in the whole color spectrum, from matte to shimmers, and all in between. I recommend you check out the brand Pacifica! They have beautiful colors and they’re a 7 free brand.

I did a little jump when I got the notification that you uploaded this video!!! I've been waiting for this video with bated breath ever since you did your nail polish routine video. Let me tell you that I have always HATED painting my own nails because I was so terrible at them (probably because I didn't know to use a top coat! Or a brush!) and there really wasn't very simple step-by-step nail tutorial videos when I was growing up. Since that video, I have compiled a very similar nail routine kit like yours (in an Aesop bag!) and have purchased Bubbles Only in the Gel Couture formula and it's my favourite! Such a beautiful glossy red... wish I could get some Olive and June in New Zealand, but maybe when someone visits from the States they can go on a Target run for me! Until then, I'll be trying out Essie's Licorice and Sew Me [not sold on this one yet :( ]. Thank you for introducing me to the at-home mani!!!!

I just ordered Olive and June HZ & one of their reds. And more of the serum, love it!! Nail polish has (almost) beat out all other beauty except skincare! Hello there! What a cracking video Matilda... really into 💅🏻 right now. For years I struggled to paint my own nails and get them done professionally now but having watched your tutorial is making me think I’ll try again. My left hand always looked great, my right hand looked like I tipped the whole bottle over everything from the knuckle down 😱😱😱. I'm totally searching for the perfect nude shade for me, but it's so so hard to find! I have some from Essie, but they look all too pink on my skin tone. I just ordered fairy taylor! Can't wait for it to arrive:) It looks like a dupe for OPI's bubble bath. My favorite nail combo is using the OPI bubble bath (3-4 layers) with one sheer layer of OPI Happy anniversary on top and it looks so sparkly and glossy/wet. I wanted to get bubble bath again but they have changed the formula to a more chalky pink so I've been looking for a dupe of their old color. This video helped my to decide on fairy taylor as the closest match. Thanks!

I am blown away because we seem to reach for the exact same colors - pale neutrals, nudes, and reds. I think my nail power color is more of that rich burgundy - so gorgeous! If you want to try something new, I just got Essie's Marshmallow and it's a lovely nearly sheer white. Makes you look really polished and put together!

Hello Matilda :) I loved all of the shades that you've shown and I would be interested to watch more similar videos. I think when it comes to nail polishes I usually have periods when I like certain colors a lot. I remember when I was a high school student I would always have perfect nails and I would only use two nude colors - one was pale peachy nude and the other ballerina pink - almost the same as your favorite nail color. Then in university I was obsessed with black nail polishes or similar to Rouge Noir by Chanel. and after I graduated I find that I have almost all Chanel & Dior nail polishes but I usually stick to wearing one color for a long time and then I change. xoxo

Thank you Angela! I've definitely gone through similar phases with colours too - I used to wear Noir Ceramic and Rouge Noir by Chanel all the time too! I might have to film an 'old favourites' video in future 😄🖤 x
