The LEAST reliable cars 2024!

Thanks to Warrantywise Extended Car Warranties for providing the data used in this video:
www.warrantywise.co.uk/
Here it is - the top 10 most unreliable used cars you can buy in 2024!
We’ve teamed up with the team at Warrantywise to find out which ten cars they rank as the least reliable cars you can buy in 2024. To compile this list, there are a few things to consider regarding this data.
For one, all models included in this list are less than 10 years old, so they’re all relatively new, and the manufacturer warranty has expired for all cars included. The list also excludes vans - we’re only looking at cars here!
The question is, which car will come out on top? There’s a stereotype that Italian cars are notoriously unreliable - will we see a load of Alfas and Fiats appear in the top 10? And on the flip side, will we see any ever-reliable German brands appear in the countdown?
There’s only one way to find out - stick with Mat to see for yourself!

Watson my vehicles are not in the so called UK. But give an opinion. It's got hundred thousand kilometers not miles. It's auto. It's got electrical faulty parts which need replacement plus some suspension parts to be replaced small cosmetic damage which may need shop repainting ultimately ... safelight needs to replace the windshield meaning the windshield is cracked. New tires. New brakes. And some servicing. Sourceable parts are 3000us or about plus 2000 quid then factor in sourced labor cost to replace parts and service we talking some pricey repairs. So what do u think it's worth factoring all repairs. It's a lexus is300 sport cross...

    6 күн бұрын

@vinnyd91 Yep, you SHOULD drain+refill the tranny around 50K miles, and every 20K or so afterwards. If you leave it too late (i.e. 100K) then your 'window of opportunity' has passed and now you have to leave it alone. FWIW, the drained fluid was a 'dark sherry' color, not bright red. I don't really believe in 'lifetime fluids'. The coolant was visibly in good condition, but the PH was off so I'm glad I changed it.

Interested in this. You mentioned the cooling issues on the seat leon cupra. However the main 'cooling ' issues I'm aware of apply to all VW EA888 engines and the well known water pump/thermostat housing issues, so it's hardly specific or more prevalent to the Leon and is rampant on all VW cars of a similar age with that engine. The main other issue happening on leons is the heater matrix getting blocked as a result of the silica bag in the header tank splitting, but in the main this is the 2.0. Diesel, so not the Leon Cupra.

Unfortunately I had to sell it as it was rusting out and I couldn't afford to fix it. I then owned my dream car I always wanted since I was 6 years old, a 2001 Volkswagen Beetle that I owned for 6 months before it started having issues that at the time I couldn't afford to fix. I mean.. the list contains several high end cars. Audi RS models, expensive Tesla models, range/land rovers.. - I don't think this warranty company quite has the clientele that drives around in French cheap cars. it's like an Audi garage saying that Audi is unreliable because they constantly have Audi's in their Audi garage.. and that BMW is the most reliable car, because they never see a BMW in their Audi garage for repairs.. they can't really make these claims as they don't deal with ALL brands and price ranges equally. + the list contains or is based on repair costs.. which will be higher on these models vs French models.

I have a question for you, Matt, since I don't live in the Uk. What is the reliability score of a Hyundai Tucson 2007 model 2.0L (Manuel)? My mother and I bought this car 1 year ago, and our mechanic says for its age it is in good condition despite a few scratches. We recently had the stabilizer links and arms replaced with a major service. All in all, nothing else is worng. We had a Chery tiggo 2009 2.0L TXE (Auto). However, other than a problem with the 3rd gear, the car was fine. One service later from the previous owner caused the tensioner to be placed in the engine wrong, which led to our head gasket blowing 3 times before the car gave up. I love my Tucson but I do still miss the Chery Tiggo, if only we had know the problems beforehand😑

Also warranty companies don't pay garages the normal hourly rate which is why alot of garages don't want too deal with warranty companies. They also don't want the headache of arguing if the part in question is worn or just failed as warranty companies don't pay out on worn parts and they always argue the part has worn.
