my father was from another era. he was a preventative doctor. preventative dentist. preventative dental surgeon. (1946-1990), 1991-2018 he retired early due to health complications caused by the broken concepts of the day. the two of us kept looking for the real causes of everything. right up until he passed. the entire ‘ industry ‘ is flawed. the egyptians developed grains. because they had a need to fix what seemed to be broken (with gold). if they didn’t invent a system to feed slaves. well. we would all be on a different page. no such thing as a good use of a monetary system (needs to be dismantled). he always maintained that if folks just followed his advice. they would be so healthy he would have zero patients. that was his goal. and. for the select few that walked the walk. it did work (ditching sweets). a native tribe only had one healer. one blacksmith. etc. the rest used their gifts. seers .. looked for usefulness. gathering. and. hunting. humans are a collective. not a solitary creature. orphans die without touch. socials do keep us connected mentally, but. w/o real interactions. we still fall apart. eating right. ain’t difficult. we know now. that any amount of carbs (refined or whole) erodes your body. the whole planet needs to forget about cash. profits. or keeping the lights on. in 1953 people would walk 12 miles to get a tooth looked at. usually yanked. in exchange for some eggs. somehow he placed a dental chair in the trunk of his car to drive and drive and drive to some tiny town. very much like Northern Exposure (TV series). unless your diets are epically perfect every day. u will be busted. this is any creature. no such thing as an obese wild animal. or. one with glasses .. as the weak, dopey are eaten by predators. humans need a predatory animal to keep us in check. except. what would eat a diseased human. nothing but bacteria it seems.

I am 76. I reversed serious liver disease and heart failure by changing to a proper human diet and exercising after the dietary change healed me enough to do so. 78 yo mother in law. Ended up in hospital with stomach pain nausea etc. by the time we found out by a call saying they were going to take out her gallbladder I was on the road. Gall stones. Great. I got there after they had removed the gallstones first which they said was successful. But they still wanted that gall bladder. I said no. Finally convinced her to stand by my decision. I am a doctor myself and I have never really interfered with my in laws decisions medically. I put my foot down on this one. And thankfully the in laws took note of my objection. The hospital/surgeon and everyone there hated me for the issue I was making. Even told us they wouldn’t treat if came back with more stones. Made my case right there. I told them F off and let’s button up this crap and let us get out of here. 78 yo and you want to permanently change her diet and that age when all I had to do was get her to be 30-50 percent more carnivore with added fat at prime times (if not 100% carnivore like my family) let’s get that bladder working and at 78 if you ever got another stone having not had one your entire life then I would die on my own sword. This really got me worked up and fighting with absolutely moronic “colleagues” was just like the Covid crap that basically shut down my practice over the years. It was a monetary statute they were going for not a realistic goal and man were they pissed when I brought facts and convinced her right in front of them that a meat diet would take care of this. It was comical and I really felt that surgeon was gonna take a swing he was so mad. Would have been his worst mistake in life but hey.

I was in so much pain I could not leave my house for several weeks. Learned how to use crutches on KZread. A year later skiing around and had some pain and swelling of the knee. Was able to walk for miles w/o pain. Finally saw an orthopedic surgeon and he diagnosed a tibial plateau fracture. He stated he would have done surgery if I presented with the initial injury. He offered a total knee replacement or a steroid injection. I declined both and opted for a brace to use when skiing and tennis. Now, no brace and all is good. Easier to buy that nice car with 84 monthly payments than to save up and maybe get a less expensive car and pay cash. We're in a "I want it all and want it now society" It's easier to get weight loss surgery or take drugs than it is to put in the hard work. Problem is, hard work always pays off. Drugs and and quick fixes always have side effects later on. Just my opinion.

He had two overweight slobs examining my MRI, giggling because it was such a big blowout- "well, I guess your running days are over" they offered. I was so pissed. I went to my follow up with the ortho and said, "what if we wait a little bit for the surgery? (fusion of L4 and 5) I never went back. Ever. Stopped running for two years, got on the bike, started working on my strength....and that was 35 years ago....very active today and yes, on rare occasion I get some nerve issues, but it is brief and rare. The germ theory has a lot to answer for. That said, to some extent everyone is locked inside their own sandboxes when treating symptoms for sound economic reasons. Recently went for gait and foot scan analysis to diagnose what I thought was congenital issue problem of one leg being shorter than the other hence have quite a history of lower back and neck pain. Turns out my left hip is hitched up and back and spine is twisted as a result. Won't say the programme of stretches and exercises they've put me on will entirely resolve my issues as the damage has already been done, but to suddenly restore mobility to the hips and lower back after years of low level pain has taken years off me. I will still have to apply the routines over time but having the information is key - you can become your own doctor teacher/ student to some degree, plus you have a brand new lense through which to work and understand. This was after years of visits to chiropractors and before that physical therapists, wearing orthotics, getting mri scans. Most people are too worried about their loss of revenue stream to give you the power to really heal/rehab yourself.

@m.sand- I hope your giving us all the facts doc because, something about this doesn’t sound right. If a stone came out of the gall bladder and plugged the bile duct then they would do a ERCP where they go in through the mouth and remove the stone that’s blocking the bile duct. I just had this done and, yes they wanted to remove the gall bladder after that but, that was because it was full of stones. They never once said they could remove the stones from the gall bladder. I didn’t want to loose my gall bladder but, since I had a plugged bile duct for around a month I had turned yellow and my pee was black. Once the stone was removed I cleared up but, got an infection on my gall bladder and my really good looking liver (do to carnivore) and had to get a very powerful antibiotic and a drain on my gallbladder for eight weeks before they could remove the gallbladder. The stones kept coming out of the gallbladder but were small enough to pass without plugging up the bile duct again. I sure hope your right about this because everything that comes out of the gallbladder has to go across the pancreas and that’s not something you want screwed up. If your mother in law has not been healthy because she’s be on the sad diet most of her life then, she might be in real trouble on a 30 to 50 % carnivore diet, she needs to go 100% now. Inflammation is the symptom with this. Carnivore seems to be among the most anti-inflammatory dietary protocols. I don't know if it's enough to alleviate your tendonitis, but I would give it a go.

Depends how badly torn it is, you'd have to get a scan to see the extent of the damage.

You mentioned acl but I had a moderate meniscus tear in my right leg about 2 years ago. I worked on slowly rebuilding the tissue and tissue around it in particular. I used some of the exercises Ben Patrick (aka kneesovertoesguy) prescribes. My knees are now stronger than they were before the injury. I’m not saying that’ll solve the problem but he does have exercises for injuries such as acl and there have been a lot of success stories.

Hey Doc. My father says red meat aggregates his gout. I am a carnivore diet believer. Is gout a known exception to carnivore principles?

Its typically combining high fat foods with high carb foods that causes gout. I used to get gout on a standard diet i dont get it anymore now that i'm on a carnivore diet. When you initially go carnivore it can set off gout as your body adapts but it goes away over time, its always best to slowly change your diet over a few weeks. If someone has consumed a lot of oxalates and then goes carnivore that can set off oxalate dumping which can mimic gout, if that happens you can take citric acid to help and also temporarily incorporate low oxalate foods which helps slow down the dumping.

Speaking of dieticians giving bad advice. I recently learned that the board that certifies dieticians in this country owns stocks in processed food companies such as pepsico, general mills, nabisco and the like. Talk about a conflict of intrest
