2:22 I didn't know it was legal to over hand set the first ball. But looking this up it is even legal to over hand set all three touches as long as you play the ball perfectly clean. Good to know :)

IIRC that's a rule change that was adopted relatively recently (I wanna say four to five years ago). It used to not be allowed. But I think it's better the way it is now, there are many players that can execute it perfectly, why not let them do it

Yep, all three contacts are to judge individually. And it does not matter what happened before or after the overhand contact. And the cleanines is the same in all cases. (Exception hard driven ball, the ruling is even more relaxed)

@@SimasSkilinskas actually, for the third touch, the set has to be square with the shoulders of the setter. The other two cases have to be clean, but often refs will judge the first touch set much more harshly than the second, so be careful with that.

@@pewpewpandas9203 yes when its an attack trajectory has to be perpendicular to the line of shoulders. Exeption to that is if it was attempt to set your teammate that doesn't apply. But general double and catch rules for setting are the same for any contact if ref judges that differently according to the contact number he doesn't know the rules.

as long as you don't touch the ball twice with your hands and you don't lift it , it is allowed now. however it's really difficult to do this perfectly, by exemple when you are receving a serve or a smah...

I believe the rules are that fingers are allowed, but not over the net. Also when passing with fingers the ball can not spin more than 2,5 - 3 times ( If I remember well). That's why finger passing in beachvolley has this extra little time, where the movement gets somehow grounded into the legs, before extending the arms again. It's extremely hard for a beginner to achieve and requires quiet some practice.

Any of the contacts can be overhand finger action. And all of them are treated the same level of cleaniness. Also any of the contacts can also be overhand finger attack over the net, but in that case player has to lock perpendicular trajectory to his shoulders before the overhand attack contact. (Exception is if it was an attempt to set his teammate) Compared to indoor, in indoor any first contact may be double, but in beach first contact if its made with fingers has to be as clean as second/third concact
