Neither a Jags or Broncos fan here. But the fact that the Jacksonville/Denver AFC Divisional Round game isn’t on this list is an absolute outrage. Blasphemous. The Broncos were 13-3 in the 1996 season & borderline unstoppable at Mile High. The Jags were a 2nd year team who only made the playoffs because of a missed Morten Anderson FG in the final game of the regular season. They were called the “Jagwads” by the Denver media. This was the most shocking & colossal upset in NFL history up to that point since Super Bowl III. Hell it was even featured in ‘NFL Films Top 10 Upsets’ video There are some really shocking road wins in this video don’t get me wrong, but it’s bitterly disappointing and shocking in its own right that this game is not featured

As a Cardinal fan, this was a heartbreaking loss. Not only did the upstart Cards dominate the then 5-0 Bears the entire game with Matt Leinart actually looking like an NFL QB, this game is also a glaring example of what happens when a coach coaches not to lose. As you said, the Cards led 20-0 at the half and in the 2nd half Green put the ball in his pocket and kept on slamming Edgerrin James up the middle.

New England was favored to beat Kansas City, especially given that they own the chiefs historically. You answered my own question for the cleveland game Same explanation as the first one Same explanation as the second one, and also the chargers were still a very inexperienced team. It was also rivers’ first year being a starter in the nfl. This point would not hold valid if it happened the next year, for example, since they acquired many guys who had experienced and had teammates of theirs who gained an additional year of experience from the 06’ season

The chargers, browns, and chiefs losses were shocking because the home team seemed to have the game clinched before a dumb mistake. New England loss to Miami was shocking because it came against a vaunted defense and cost them a bye. Similar with bengals vs ravens, they just had to stop 4th and 12 at home against a bad team and allowed a touchdown and therefore missed the playoffs. By the way chiefs were favored in that afc championship
