Maddie is definitely a performer not only is she theatrical enough to get people invested in her singing but she has a the voice to match it I love the confidence that she shows preforming

She is a better performer but the guy is a better singer. She has a pretty average voice( coming from someone who has been in choir and performed for over 6 years). He has a better voice for the stage.

Madi returned as an All-Star the season after this one. She made it an extra few rounds.

The two on stage together did a great job, so well done as a team. I agree, they should work together.

I would have instantly picked the Boy. He seems so confident, comfortable and stable. What really made the difference for me tho was how he played with his voice depending on what was he was singing. Especially on the "Hot Damn" parts i really liked how he delivered it with a more breathy voice.

@@jfducusin7186 in terms of personality too, for me. Not a huge fan of the 'I wanna be a pop princess' kinda girls, like... Humble yourself. In the duo she sometimes payed more attention to being sexy than getting her voice right. His vocals were so powerful and expressive, that's what she lacked a bit imo.

I think the song choice gave him the edge. He has the same vocal range as the artist and he was given pretty much all of the verses of the song. She was given the adlibs with not much room do much with them. They had great stage presence together, but I feel like she was screwed over with this song choice vocally.

Dang why y’all gotta be so salty lmao. Nothing wrong with wanting to be a pop princess. It’s not like she’s saying she’s already one, but wants to work hard and become one. Also, if you’ve ever come across her other interviews and performances, or even her YT channel, she comes across as a very humble person.

Interesting part. Him: "we worked really hard, we grinded in a hotel room like...." (The crowd reacted..like as if😅.) Him: "Hey, hold on hold on......."

That battle round was very well done, both in terms of singing and choreography. It was too bad another coach couldn't steal Madi.

I love aydans humbleness too. Rare to see in a lot of people his age. The way he gave equal credit to Madi, and acknowledged all her hard work was great. Those two were fantastic as a duet.

Her improvement over the three performances was incredible though. I didn't think she would get a turn with her audition but the growth just shows all the amazing potential she has. (Also loved them together, becoming a duo could have been so fun)

I am actually crying! The ending! The way he turned his win into a how grateful he was to have worked with Madi and how great she was when they both truly were amazing is just everything!!!! I love them both so much!!!!

Was definitely my highlight for her. It’s so smooth and extremely confident and suave. So much sass to carry herself like that on stage. Beautiful. But he had plenty of good ones too.

Im gonna disagree that Madi is raw. And that was why Ayden won. Ayden had the Rock Funk edge that Madi, as beautifully as she sings, did not have.

when he saw madi start getting emotional at the end and just says “no don’t do that to me” i hope these 2 stayed mates after the show

In some of her runs in Uptown Funk Madi actually sounded like Ariana 😨. 👏🏻👏🏻 Well Done to both Madi and Aydan!! Awesome performance and amazing chemistry. Shame it's a competition piece, because it was a brilliant duet and it sucks to have to lose one of the performers from the competition at the end of it.

She has amazing stage presence, go Madi!!

The thing I don’t like about this is the fact that 2 great singers played against each other and made one of them knock each other out, regardless if they were even in strength/talent one of them had to leave, and in all seriousness and fairness she should’ve got higher in the competition by beating some of the least talented people but got knocked out due to facing someone of the same level. So what I’m saying is this show allows weaker talent to go further by knocking out greater talent by facing them with others who are even.

That’s kind of a straw man, though, isn’t it? Of course they should go up against equals. If they didn’t, someone could potentially use your logic to argue that pitting someone with a higher level of skill against someone with a lower level of skill would be unfair to the less skilled folks. You’d have Madi go up against someone who is not her equal, but rather, below her? What would THAT say about what the coaches thought about her talent/ability? It’s not a confidence booster, I’ll tell you that. If I believed that those who are meant to be guiding and mentoring me thought less talented folks were the level of competition I could handle, I’d quit. It’s really only a win if I can beat my equal or better. Just a thought.

Well I dont see how it would be fair to put an amazing singer with someone on a lower level. Cause who do you think will win? You gotta put them with somebody on there level so it's fair and it's actually a competition. They both did amazing, but even though she lost doesn't mean you have to come up with random, nonsense reasons to defend her. They both did amazing, and it was a great challenge for the both of them!!

I absolutely enjoyed this entire video. I love these 2 together they really had so much chemistry together.

it doesn't seem like anyone ever even cares about how much damage a rejection like this can do to someone who is young and fragile. that Uptown Funk performance rates up in the top 10 duets ever performed on the voice worldwide which is why it's in every new best duet compilation on youtube and it was Aydan and Madi together that made the performance so iconic and for doing so Madi's reward was yet another rejection and lets be honest all BS aside regardless of the public relations propaganda spewed by the coach at the time, the bottom-line is the coaches rejection decision is based on who will help the coach's team win......

They both had such an awesome performance together and I think they complimented each other in every way. And I don't think that Aiden meant any disrespect towards Madi with the "grinding" comment he made about them working so hard the night before so they could both give us a stellar performance! Because I have since read other comments about Madi being upset with Aiden and that she felt he disrespected her with that particular comment. Bottom line is I think that they both worked their butts off and gave us an awesome performance that night that is still being talked about as one of the best duet performances on The Voice.
