Most ridiculous repair attempt ever? High end massage chair. Inada Robostic HCP-D6D.

Ғылым және технология

This expensive and heavy massage chair is a freebie, but has an electronic fault. Could I fix it with no service data, and a wife who really wants it out of the way quickly? Interesting fault finding.

    Amazing how one cheap component can kill such an expensive piece of kit, certainly not service friendly, but I bet you are pleased you got it, I would end up living in that chair!

    Really enjoyed this video, glad the chair is being appreciated again intead of ending up in a tip! I found seven (old type) pound coins in the cabinet of an arcade machine I bought, felt like a win and made my day, despite being a fraction of what the machine cost!

    £1.20 up, free very expensive professional massage chair, and a happy wife. Remember when I said your solar installation was the shrewdest investment you'd ever make? Well the very next week this free massage chair has usurped it and the video was fantastic too. And don't think we missed the cheeky smile as you faced the camera when Mrs Video99 wasn't quite sure what to expect as it was turning her upside down!

    Actually you can rule out the motor part of it as it seems to be galvanically decoupled by relays and optocouplers. BTW the budget version of measuring low resistances it to use a current limited source and just measure the voltage. This will also eliminate contact problems.

  • @video99couk

    @video99couk

    I sometimes get safety switch 006 errors. Use the joystick to isolate which motor is affected, 006 is needing motor. I suspect the problem is servo motor feedback wiring but there is no available service information. Gaining access to motors means a lot of dismantling and I've not yet dared to devle deeper as my error is only intermittent. Is yours permanent?

  • @vyparn

    @vyparn

    It is permanent. Occurs right after the main switch is turned on . Tried to disconnect everything from PCB leaving only remote. All the same. I think problem is there on PCB Replaced some parts on high voltage part which looked suspicious. . No result. Have no idea how to check 5vdc circuit .All z diodes are ok. And where that safety switch can be placed?
