Monique, I love that you shared your lovely home with us just as it is, lived-in, NORMAL, and not too fussy. Your view is INCREDIBLE! I love your style, your way of being, and love YOU! You're so freakin' cool.

Yes, lower & slimmer profile furniture would really work nicely in the space with a bigger jute/seagrass rug under the main rug that would come just to where the side tables fully were anchored on it. That would leave ample walk space on the walkway floor. The sound wouldn't bounce as much & it would be awesome looking. Great space, love that tree & your deck is fabulous. Love the mid century fireplace!

I live in so California too.....it is so so overcrowded and we can’t wait to leave ....I live outside Los Angeles.......it was really nice 30 years ago.

Your home is my type of place, cosy, comfortable with awesome views. I think I would be spending all my time outside on the patio. You have done a great job so far on the garden, the flowers are looking very colourful. I love the size of the house, it's ideal for you Howard and the cats, a place to relax and enjoy all life has to offer. Thanks for the tour Monique. I'm all about the Nature!!! The landscaping looks Gorgeous, as well as the Beautiful view! You both really have a eye for mixing & matching the different plants. They're all very beautiful & eye catching. I just LOVE it all! The Zen garden is coming along nicely, I can't wait to see the final version! You both always have great vision for how you want things to look, so however you renovate down the road, I'm sure it will look spectacular! It's always great to see the kitties! They are prone to thyroid trouble tho. I tried so long to save the one. Could not slow that motor. He drank n drank. Poor ol feller. Only 12 or 13.

I've been to a lot of homes in fantastic locations there in S. Cal, most amazed me at how small the rooms really were & not so fancy inside the older ones for sure. With some modern remodel work, yours will be adorable. I can totally see how you two found the potential in it with great bones and that view. The outside is looking beautiful! I so miss having many varieties of flowers & plants I had there. Great job on that and the studio Monique. I'm sure if you hadn't had to put the insane $$$$ into the water damage downstairs you'd have your sweet dressing room closet or something else redone by now instead. The joys of home ownership! I'm so happy for you that you found such a great guy & for getting the happy peaceful life you deserve! Hugzzzz

You've settled in nicely in a short amount of time, Monique! You won't believe it, but we have a similar 2nd bedroom which is actually our walk-in clothes closet also! Tim made a large clothes rack on wheels (with a bottom rack for shoes, and a top one for hats!) as soon as we moved here, and discovered that none of the small closets in this 1930's home have any hanging racks installed for clothes! A beautiful lot with naked ladies; who knew?! Have a lovely weekend, Beautiful, Sherrey 💕🎠💕

Very calm and peaceful feeling. Love the Japanese Maple tree in the Zen garden, I would add 2 more, decorate in 3's for impact. Your flowers are very pretty in garden. The water accents are great. Thanks for sharing

So true about 3’s …, maybe enclose Orange, lemon, tress in wire like kitty enclosure so “ visitors” don’t eat them… would be very easy to do. The bird squares for food can be made in your kitchen so cheaply… make up a couple months ahead… store in bucket in garage. Those squares can get to be expensive. 😀😀

The place looks fantastic! I think it looks great now doesn't even need remodeling but I know it's fun to do it. You guys have done a great job and I love the water feature. Your gardens look so pretty you are very talented. I'm so happy for you I know it's so great to have your own home and privacy and not be in apartments any more. :)

So comfy and peaceful...and I wouldn’t worry one iota about major remodelling....you can do so much outdoor living there ....who needs the perfect kitchen! it’s a lovely home in an amazing location. I’d probably just have the kitchen units professionally painted in a lighter colour, if there’re in ok condition , and make a few tweaks to make it more to your taste. ...and I bet you could research techniques and do that yourself since you seem capable of anything like that! Outside garden looks great! Fun to have seen your initial work & plant selections fill in beautifully! Here’s an idea for steps to studio area: transplant the naked ladies somewhere pretty and extend a deck over that area when you replace steps- that’s prime living and entertaining space :) as a designer always thinking of expanded living space as new Realestate;)

Monique, your home is terrific. Thank you for sharing your abode. Please know that the red dye in your hummingbird feeder is lethal for the birds. Just do a 4 to 1 (4cups water to 1cup sugar) for the hummers with no dye. Hummingbirds are my favorite bird so I am just passing in some info to one animal and bird liver to another!👍
