I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle kzread.infoUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

Here is a bit of interesting history for you. In 1971 McCulloch introduced the SP 125 chainsaw. This saw , now 50 years old, put out 10HP at 10000 RPM, and with the factory installed 101B kart powerhead put out 15HP at 12000 RPM. That is why it is still the most legendary saw ever made.

Very interesting, iv'e not heard of that Saw. We used to run the 084 back in the day, but falling 14 foot Cedars is pretty rare now. The 881 would be a treat to run, and see how far it's come. Have a great Day.

Sent in my brand new ms880 with under 5 hours on it ported by Ripsaw. Expect it to be able to blow this saw away. I had a ported 088 and an 090av and before that a Super Whiz 88. Love the biggies.

Look into a Maxflow air filter setup for it. Especially in a milling environment. The factory filter seems to grab the larger chips in the pleats and gets clogged too fast.

Just two questions. Firstly, what's the difference between a MS 881, and an MS 881 'Magnum', or are they both one and the same? Secondly, how long before the injected version of the 881 is in production? Thanks.
