I ignore any channel that says in the event of a shtf scenario that gold and silver will be the new currency. If shtf it's commodities that will be the new currency. Why would I trade a chicken for a silver dollar? I can't eat it. I would trade my chicken for some charmin or beans or other food stuff. Those that claim G&S will be the new currency laughably base the value on a dollar amount. So if the dollar collapses how do you set a value on your metals? The other problem is stackers aren't common. You might be sitting on a pile of metal but how do you trade with the majority who don't? You can't. You can only trade with other like minded people. I make money buying and selling G&S. Just like stocks and crypto. Buy the dips, then ride it up to a nice profit before dumping it and turning it back into cash. Maybe someday the bottom will fall out of cash and hopefully I'm not sitting on a bunch of it when it happens. Everything is paid for and I have no debt so if it happens I won't suffer too much

I guess you could base it on the foreign exchange if it survives depending on how bad the shtf event is. Does it just affect the US or the World? I still think bartering for useful items would be the start of rebuilding society. Not everyone would have gold and silver so they couldn't participate if that became the currency.

It will always be money because nothing else (except silver) is rare, Portable and has an easily recognized value (all 3 criteria). Literally nothing else. Again, everyone knows gold and silver have intrinsic value. Why do you think all central banks are rushing to buy it? Finally, it is a base element on the periodic table - you can’t duplicate it, can’t print it, you have to dig it out of the ground. It ultimately destroys the power of the Fed.

Silver is like gold only to a lesser extent. Silver is money as well, but is not as portable. Silver for your food, gold for your life. Again, no other substance is all 3 - rare, portable, and easily recognized value. Silver was used as money in Venezuela when their currency collapsed and shortages made everything expensive. Silver and gold are real money - everything else is a lie. If the collapse goes on for a long time, everybody is screwed - better get right with God. In the long run, we are all dead anyway. Jesus saves.

Silver is the People Money for day to day transactions, where as Gold is for nations/generational wealth.

Great video on an interest subject. Thank you for sharing. I don't begrudge anyone making click bait videos on PMs, but I tend to shy away from their video offerings. I prefer watching videos that share ideas on the metals themselves, not following the up and down of spot price daily. Videos about their stack, their stacking strategy, why they stack, etc. I have recently been posting videos on rediscovering my stacks after being hidden away for the last 7+ years. Good fun!
