I want to first off say "Thank you" for letting me know how much you did pay! I think you got a great deal as so many of those books are Liquid gold and can turn over fast! This is a wonderful collection of books that will always be on want list! I don't believe "New" books from the last 20 years have this kind of long term value!!!

Man, for 12k I think u did fantastic! Some amazing books there and since the market is down a bit right now, I only see them going back up

I used to have first appearance of Rhino. It was with my things in around 2004 when a landlord changed my locks and stole all my stuff though. He took things worth way more than the comics, but the comics are what hurts the most. I had loads of old kung fu master (shang chi) as well which wasn't worth anything back then, but now might be more valuable. Also had the first symbiote suit cover after secret wars, first appearance of shocker... loads of stuff. Probably best I can't fully remember everything I had. They actually belonged to a neighbours uncle originally, and I swapped them from him for a Sonic 2 cart if I remember rightly (this would have been early 90's)

Just seeing these books was great. I love more than anything Gold/Silver Age comic's, Great buy man

God i miss collecting comics. I started in the 90s with some of marvel's AOA. Then i became a fan of andy kubert's works and collected most of them during his stay at marvel. I still have them and cant let go

Nice pickup! My collection is about 1000 books (9 short boxes) w/ 50 graded. I have everything logged and valued at about 14k. I don’t have anything close to the number of keys you have in this collection. Those are some big slabs too. I think you did quite well. Congrats

Hey there. Do you have any advice when putting together a list of keys, please? I only recently got back into collecting comics, and I mostly just collect variant covers that I like right now (so modern stuff with cool alternate artwork on the covers) but I'd like to start collecting key issues as well. I'm not sure where to start with this though. I definitely could do with some kind of cheat sheet for knowing what I'm looking for.

There’s quite a few ways to do this but I would start by downloading a free app called “Key Collector”. You can search by character like Spider-Man or X-men and it will show all the keys in chronological order. It will also give a estimated range of how much those keys cost. This will help you put a want list together. It’s worked pretty well for me. Good luck! 🍻

Personally I feel like you paid retail at 12k. Doesn't feel like you got any sort of deal. But if you weren't trying to make money and just trying to add to your collection, then good for you!
