Thanks for putting it together but do you realize how confusing it is at 9:22, where you had just outlined the Ape Canyon story "as you will hear it from mainstream cryptozoologists, yet...." "former Michigan Governor..." (and now it's the carnivorous plant story). I let it play and play, mainly just listening for how this tale was going to tie back to the Ape Canyon one. Many minutes later another whole tale was starting, so I backed it up, skipped to here and there, finally realizing there was a splice that sounded almost perfectly seamless, and whatever "non-mainstream" aspect there was about Ape Canyon isn't here at all!!

@@redwoodrebelgirl3010 or Tah-tah-kle’-ah is a creature found in the mythology of the Yakama Tribe that lives on the Washington/Oregon border. It is a combination of an owl and a witch that lures people away from their camps and leads them into the woods to kill them. Its victims are primarily children, who were led away by the Tah-tah-kle’-ah’s ability to mimic the voices of the tribe. I think this was a tale to keep children from running off, LoL

My mother and aunts tell us that their dad (my granddad) who died before I was born saw something one night walking home from work between villages down dark country lanes. There is a old church and graveyard called Felkirk church that was built in the 1100s. It is located on a isolated road between the two villages which he had walked past many times on his walk home. One night though he was brought home by three men who had heard his scream and gone to investigate, only to find him shaking and crying but could get no sense out of him. One of the men worked and knew him well enough to get him home to my grandmother (they were a young couple at the time) and the next day his hair had turned white. He never did say what he'd seen only that he would never go near that church again.

Dude, the "Lost Colony mystery" hasn't been a mystery since at least the early 1700s. They were assimilated into the native population. Tribal members local to the area with gray eyes and European features have been well-documented for hundreds of years now. The whole 'enduring mystery' angle is a charming bit of folklore that has been perpetuated for tourism purposes.

Being skeptical is a good thing because it's just using critical thinking to weigh how credible an account is. It's debunkers who are annoying and have a closed mind. "Believe nothing you hear and half of what you see" is a wise saying, but it doesn't mean "argue with everybody as if they're all liars". That being said, I'm skeptical to an extent but I want believe in the Paranormal and don't doubt that anything is possible.

Me and my friend went through the Ape Caves multiple times. There are 2 routes. 1 tourist easy walk and one a little longer and more challenging. Us and a ton of other people go through there every year and while it can be unnerving if you're not experienced with caves, I've never heard of things like that happening.

Interestingly, I never heard any of the folklore about Cloudland Canyon growing up, but there are plenty more weird stories about the mountain. There was a cult(ish) group on the mountain during the spiritualism craze of the 19th century, and the place they would meet is a now a tiny park we would hang out in as kids.

In response to your section on carnivorous plants, one does not have to focus on the dangers posed by an obscure spiny plant found in some exotic jungle. Much like the logistics explained in the video, the potential threat of entrapment/starvation that wool-yielding (wool wearing?) mammals face, in particular, can be from a plant which is native to every continent on earth (sans Antarctica) and is the most widespread, native-born, fruit producing plant on earth--blackberries.

51:00 Okay, this is going to sound nuts, but I think I may have encountered one of these entities (or something like it) before. About 8 years ago, I was studying astral projection and attempting it. During one of my attempts, I was in the process of relaxing and trying to get to that "body asleep, mind awake" state when I heard a clicking noise on the other side of my room. It reminded me of the sound that the aliens make in the Signs movie. While my eyes were closed, I could picture an entity perched on my dresser clearly in my mind. It was naked, with pale skin and long limbs. When I got to the face, I got the impression of an elongated snout and big eyes (kind of shaped like a gas mask, but it was the thing's face). I wasn't scared, but I was aware of this thing as though it was sitting right there. In fact, the clicking was more along the lines of it going "what are you doing?", like it was confused. And my first inclination was to pull myself out of my state, sit up, and check if something was actually there. It could very well have been a bout of sleep paralysis or a dream. Astral Projection requires your body to sleep, after all. I always kinda figured it was a dream. But once I heard the description at this point in your video, that creature in my room was the first thing I thought of. Especially when you described it as not being hostile right off the bat, but beckoning to the guy. I didn't have any bad luck or rashes, though (unless you cound money troubles, but how is that new?)

😮 Your story is very scary! I recently had a frightening sleep paralysis event. *I was halfway sleep, couldn't move then I heard a man's voice saying "I'm here, hello" OMG! So scary! I tried to scream, but couldn't. I've had sleep paralysis plenty of times, but I never heard a voice before. Sometimes I can feel "it" coming on and I change my position that usually works and I can go to sleep peacefully.

A great compilation! Also like your based approach. Think many of the sightings can be attributed to predisposed psychological influence by rumors or folklore. Know for a fact that bear commonly stand on two legs and can be quite curious and evasive. And if you've never seen one before but finally catch a glimpse of one for a few seconds, especially at dusk your mind can play tricks on you. Not saying there aren't critters out there we don't know about or states refuse to admit they exist ( because it would hurt tourism) but some the recordings sound like owls, fox or even deer or moose. With AI becoming available to everyone now, recent videos are highly skeptical. I've personally have had to take double and triple takes and investigate several things I've seen only to find my eyes playing tricks on me because of lighting or sea smoke. But have had unexplained interactions. Plus we have an unknown number of invasive species let loose or escaped by unscrupulous or irresponsible people who find it necessary to import exotic pets that can become invasive. Both in flora and fauna. As far as killer plants go, there a probably thousands. Everything from toxicity to trees shooting seeds like bullets that can kill a person, also insects that live on plants or trees that are highly toxic that are camouflaged so well it's too late before you figure it out. Either way, a great and interesting video 👍👍

So that plant/tree sounds like the same story of the way that Yggdrasil would grab it's victims. Perhaps the girl wasn't truly strong enough to survive mentally. I wonder if this very man-eating tree of Madagascar's isn't in fact what the Gods call Yggdrasil itself, or perhaps some evil genetic off shoot. Or perhaps the story was created as an evil alternative to a traveling Viking's story of Yggdrasil? Nonetheless, there exist certain connections that cannot be ignored. That makes two civilizations with the existence of a man-eating tree of sorts. perhaps there exist more stories of trees like this? Perhaps a connection to lost civilizations of the past?

I'm from the outer banks, well since 85, and walked across the lost colony stage for my diploma. My current wife, ex gf then, tripped and I was happy about it. I forgave her after 20 years and now we have a child together. The obx ufo flaps got more intense after 85. It's because of me. I don't know why they want to keep tabs on me like this but it's my life. Just this morning alone our front door has been opened twice. Twice!!! It's not a door you can leave open without knowing. It'll hit the wall loudly every time. We all deal with the hitchhiker VIRUS. It came from Ohio, close to serpent mound, and followed me here. My 3x wife, current and 3 kids live with it and all I did was get chased and possibly abducted. I don't remember it but have implants that are documented through sentara health systems and have a repressed memory of something at my window. I used to get headaches and couldn't think for hours but now it's not like that. I just can't remember what was to my left outside my bay window as a kid. The entire town are exoeriencers in some manner. I grew up on a "skinwalker ranch". They're not that special and are all over the world. Most folks just don't want the stigma. Like me, I only told a handful of folks until recent years. I was never a ufo guy but actually was lol. It just wasn't known. My father witnessed some and got me reading von daniken before ten years old. BTW they mess with us alot. Now I've given an ultimatum and I'm ready for war. I had to clear my yard last night because something was scratching my daughter's window. No trees close enough to even get a flying stick to do that lol. The wind was like 5mph maybe. I found nothing but was half nude, in crocs, plate carrier, mossberg 500 with my battle belt, glock, trauma kit, etc. Now, after the door issue, I'm in concealed armor, 511 concealed carry shirt but I have my Gen 5 19 in a shoulder holster. I have my hair in a ponytail and look like a 90's "cartel bad guy #32" lol

I am from MALAYSIA. Love your channel and amazed just how fast your channel and confidence grew. Great job hank? In Malaysia it is common Knowledge that such carnivorous plants exist in our tropical borneo forest. We also have cultural traditional and even historical records and beliefs of paranormal activities in jungles , mountains, sea, river etc. The Mawas ie big foot, orang bunian ie human looking entities from other side, shadow people, nymps and gnomes etc.... also exist here. The jungle holds so much of secrets which cannot be discovered in our lifetime. And just because there is no discovery or research or book evidence on it... does not mean it does not exist. We seek permission b4 entering or even peeing in a jungle or mountain. Our faith remains nonetheless in God that created everything...including the unknown.
