MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE IN WYOMING? | BACKPACKING the WIND RIVER RANGE | Cirque of the Towers

Is this the most beautiful place in WYOMING? Join myself and my friends Kim and Stephen on a 4 night/5 day backpacking trip in Wyoming's SPECTACULAR Wind River Range. The terrain is challenging, but the scenery is EPIC as we traverse the Cirque of the Towers loop.

I was in the Wind River Range and Cirque of the Towers with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) out of Lander 53 years ago and it changed my life. I was a Long Island, New York boy, but I moved out West 2 years later and never looked back. The West is the best!

@@zekeabercrombie3583 Just wondering I know it’s a beautiful place and rugged but is anyplace feel remote anymore. I am an avid backpacker and do a lot of long distance hiker well into my 60s but with the internet and KZread it seems no place is a secret and people are everywhere. Add to that how light gear has gotten things are much easier. I hike mostly in the White mountains of NH and now the parking lots are full and I need to hike just hike. Just wondering if Wyoming is having the same issue. Wyoming is very beautiful for sure. I climbed the Grand Teton many times back in the 70 and 80s. Great times. Take care

@@mtadams2009 you're right on about the traffic. KZread and the amazing gear is making remote areas more accessible. I've just recently got into backpacking and it's wonderful. I've always camped but throwing all you need on your back and heading out into the woods for several days is exhilarating! We did get off the beaten path and out and away from the crowds after seeing the Cirque. Just gotta commit to it!

I spent 27 days in the Wind River Range / Cirque of the Towers on a NOLS course 40 years ago - I still remember it vividly. As a Fourth of July treat our group, summitted Mt. Geike. I also remember Mount Washakie and "Pain in the Ass Pass". No GPS back then, and not even a compass, just orienteering with good old USGS quads. It is truly an amazing place

"VISIONS OF CHEESEBURGERS DANCING IN OUR HEADS!" 😂 You had me laughing out loud!!! We've hiked over 18,000 miles in our 49 years of marriage. We've litterally worn out a few pairs of hiking boots over the years. We've done that trail and know how difficult it is. I still recall craving pizza, cheeseburgers, pasta, etc. We still hike, but we now keep to our Appalachian Mountains. Again, thanks for bringing us along on your beautiful hiking journey!

I totally get why you do what you do Cat, and I can only watch in awe. Your videos have a way of evoking an emotional response from the viewer... The beauty of the landscape, the music, your editing technique, all contribute to a super pleasant viewing experience. It's almost like being there... almost. I can only imagine what it's like to actually be there. It has to be a spiritual experience. The connection with Nature is a connection to God if one is open to it. It is next to impossible to experience that feeling in the "concrete jungle". Your lifestyle is not lost on me, Cat. I get why you do what you do. I loved the positive attitude of your friends. Truly inspirational! Keep up the great work my friend!

Really loved this astonishingly beautiful adventure. I believe this is my favorite backpacking video of all time. For me, your focus was perfect, the awe of Nature, and the human element of pushing forward to accomplish a goal. Often backpacking videos get caught up in the technical explanation of equipment, set ups, take down, and dilute the feeling of being fully engulfed in the emotional experience of it all. Thank you for masterfully creating this uniquely compelling experience for your audience.

Thank you Cherie. When I started the channel, I didn’t post weekly. I posted whenever I did a hike or backpack. It wasn’t my full time job. Now that I do, I am showing more of my entire life. People aren’t aware that there could be things going on behind the scenes and there are reasons I have cut back on backpacking trips. Also, unfortunately…the backpacking videos don’t perform as well as my road life videos on the channel. I don’t understand that, but that’s the situation. I wish I could please everyone, but it’s impossible. I’m just out here living my life and sharing it with the viewers. I do have more backpacking adventures planned before the end of the season.

The Winds are the most rugged mountain range in the lower 48. I love the Winds. Glad I don't live far from them. I like hiking south of the Green River Lakes area. There's so much to see in the Winds. They are spectacular! Great video Cat. 🌲🏔😊
