Tank is running since September 12, 2019. Major rescaping was done on My 30th, 2021; new rock and sand was introduced.
Favourite fish/coral:
The main reason I keep a reef tank is for the corals. I prefer LPS but I like to challenge myself with a mixed reef. My favourite corals are: Scolymia, Acanthophyllia and clams.
Fish: Mandarinfish

This system deserves a ten. Beautiful, I love mixed reefs.
It looks so much bigger than a 250!! Truly stunning!
Bigger question is how do they have these super super agressive corals of different species (particularly the trachys and euphillya) sooooo close to eachother and sps and not have them killing eachother?

The Deshy is incredible - no wonder it's his favourite

this tank is absolutely picture perfect... if i had to suggest anything at all i would say to move that torch coral... its getting blasted by the powerhead.. if he moved it it would plump up much more

@@ncoppens lol fair enough but it’s a different look to most tanks. I’m over the craze of every tank being a random collection of 1inch acro frags that are so close they never get to grow out. I would not personally want this colour reef in my home but it’s great to see a hobbyist doing their own thing and not copying the trend.

@@insanity4224 I agree completely. I have 3 smaller pieces far apart from each other on my top level (20g cube) and overall a lot of space for corals to grow out. Once they grow out I will upgrade to a larger tank, transfer them and add some more.

@@ncoppens sounds great 👍 you will get to see the natural shape of the coral. I have a 160gal and going full leather coral with a few gonies spread around to give me some different colour. But mostly a collection of different coloured sarcophytum, sinularia etc

@@insanity4224 I like my tank mixed. Softies, LPS and just a few hardy SPS. I don't like extremely bright colored tanks, just a hint here or there. I like GSP and Xenia (contained on a stone or back wall). Yours sounds really nice. You hardly ever see those anymore and I can really appreciate an "old fashioned" softie tank.

The Tank and the Corals are beautiful and I love it. But the Tank itself is a little bit too small for the tang. should be like 600L for him(my view)

@@DannysAquariums I understand why people love shallow tanks. You need less par and less water but still have the same space for placing corals, the tank is cheaper, but pure estatically higher tanks are nicer. 🙂

I give it a 9 out of 10. Very well setup but half the corals lacked that vibrant color. We all know green and red corals are some of the easiest color sustainable. I really want to get back into the hobby I love the most but funds just ain't there.
