My mom was born blind, and the Lord gifted her with a beautiful voice, as well as beauty and intelligence. She received full scholarship to Juilliard School of Music when she was 20…sadly, she married my father who wouldn’t allow her to go. 😢 I know that ripped her heart through her whole life, though she only mentioned it once. As a teen, I asked her if she regretted marrying him, and Mom said, “ I got you and your brother out of it, so, no.” She taught me many of these arias, and “O Night of Love” that is played on here was one we sang together. (She taught me the English version, though, lol!) Mom’s love for the opera and classical music has been one of her legacies to us. My 3 children loved/appreciated it, as well, (especially my daughter). I buried my darling mom on this day, 11/11/2013. 💔 and, then, my precious daughter 5 months later, 5/1/2014💔 oh, how I miss them both. Was listening to this today, letting my mind wander down sweet memories’ lane. Have enjoyed this video so much.

Mercy , you want to die for communism? Don't, communism will kill you and your spirit as soon as you give it a chance, which means you are dead already. You remind me of the last words of a friend who just left us for greener pastures, here they are: When you die you don"t feel a thing anymore and all the people around you are sad. The same applies when your dumb!

As a combat veteran I enjoy going to the Opera...but when I saw Madam butterfly and heard the aria in act 2 and the realization of the betrayal of the love....I lost it and started crying.....then I looked around and saw a number of other men in tuxedos crying as well...I felt alive like never before. I still cant listen to that song without crying

@dojocho1894, Dear Sir, you touched me so deeply with your memory of that moment. You, who have given so much, felt at soul level the exquisite pain of Butterfly, and Pinkerton's cowardice and callousness. This moment has such an impact on every sensitive soul, as proven by the other gentlemen who also were moved to tears. Thank you for sharing your intimate experience! Many blessings to you. When my little angel Brody had to leave this world the last thing I wanted him to hear as I held him and told him how much he is loved was Maria callas calling him to the heavens from which he came. I should be so lucky. God bless u all.

When I need something for my soul , I listen classical Music or opera . This is my saver .
My dad loved opera and played classical piano. As I child I didn’t appreciated it. I was into rock and roll. As an adult I’ve grown to love opera I guess I heard it so much. After my mother died my dad remarried two years later and his wife wanted him to cut all ties to me which he did. I cry at many of these arias as I think of him. The hurt never left me and he died many years ago. Never saw or spoke to me or saw his grandchildren. Funny how music can stir so many emotions. I will always be grateful to him for my love of opera

So sorry for the loss of your parents at a young age. Hugs.
My piano teacher, while I studied in a musical school, insisted on me been heard by her friend- voice coach in StPetesburg, RU conservatory. I had beautiful mezzo and loved singing arias from Verdi, Massnet, Puccini, Bizet operas, imagining being on stage. The professor was enthusiastic, but said I should wait for another year for my voice to mature. My mom prohibited me to think about my serious training, saying my voice was mediocre. Many years later she apologized for stopping me, admitting yes, indeed, I had that god given gift. Why did she do that? Too late, anyway. But my love for opera never subsided.

Maybe she wanted to protect you, since it’s hard to earn a living in art, given the huge competition. It's impossible to tell. But I wanted to study Theatre Directing, yet few people from that field strongly advised against it, citing the challenges theatre actors and other performers face in making a living. They wished me an easier life by choosing a more 'prestigious' or financially rewarding career path... and partly they were right. I also have a little sadness in thinking about what my life would look like if I had gone straight into theatre directing instead of listening to adults…
I am playing this soul touching music as it reminds me off my so loved father who filled the room with his good taste in music when I was little. He is now 85 and not much is left off him. Suffering with a body thats dying slowly. Love you papa ❤
im a rocker and a fan of pink floyd and genesis and i just love these arias because they straight to my soul while rock goes to my heart.

Through many studies, it has been found that Rock, Classical, Opera, Trance... or any music you like... will produce the same results: Dopamine and serotonin. However, lyrics that are understood, trigger human emotions as well when the subject associates with the story. So, logically if you understood the languages being sung, the results would be the same from Opera as Rock.
my mom used to listen to opera at night while sleeping. id sneak into her room, late at night , and lay next to her big speakers . the volume was down low but i could still hear it. it was my introduction to the genre .
Someone once asked me, how did I become so enthralled with opera? How did a lifetime of listening to these arias ever begin? I remember it like yesterday, my father had brought home an LP of Puccini's La Boheme and Che Gelida Manina came on while I was doing my homework. Literally, at the crescendo of this most famous piece, the hairs on the back of my neck went up and a shiver ran down my spine. That was it for me and I have never looked back!

This mix of elegant male and female voices singing the most beautiful arias is a rare treat for all who are willing to lend an ear to music. One does not need to have a pre-trained liking for music to like this, but if one has a predilection for singing one would be enthralled with this collection. Richly thrilling.

Music transcends poverty Embrace it. It free.
Most beautiful I close my eyes and I remember being a small child and memories of listening to this my mother would play all the classical. My mother was a ballet dancer and I would play floating around the room. heavenly love .
Franco Corelli came into my parent's home in the 50's through the kind gift of a long playing record. He was devastatingly handsome with an unmatched voice and I fell in love with both him and with the world of passion, emotion, fury, tenderness and exquisite music that is Opera. My sis and I went on to play the LP until it was smooth, all the while gazing at the image of this magnificent performer on the cover. We could only dream of hearing such a voice in person because this was working class Lancashire in North England and a more unlikely home for opera in Europe at that time would be hard to imagine. It mattered not, I was twelve years old and completely entranced with this compelling Art. I still am.
I always felt so drawn to opera music... I only know select operas but I love singing them. Feel like I could've been an opera singer in a past life.. It's rare to find people who truly appreciate this kind of music nowadays.

This is July 2023 - and am a latecomer to operas. This selection, as you beautifully remarked, takes us to heaven. We can, for a while, put behind our cares and enjoy the heavenly bliss. Much gratitude to all who make it possible for us to enjoy heaven on earth. ❤❤❤
My beautiful daughter introduced me to opera with her lovely voice and music collection. Though not well-informed on opera, I am a very happy listener, especially when I need to relax and unwind from a stressful day. Happy listening to all!
This arias are a true manifestation of the divine. Thank you for putting them together so professionally and with a high quality of the sound. Absolutely most beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Köszönöm!Hallgatás közben valamennyi ária a lelkemet simogatta,a himzés is jobban ment.Élvezetek halmozása!!!Ismételten nagyon-nagyon köszönöm.
The woman I called my mother was the true inspiration of my life. She was always poised, with an air of elegance that only a few could pull off effortlessly. Despite her refined demeanour, she possessed a humility that made her even more endearing. I recall the deep love that she had for the opera. It was as if the music would take her to another world. Her eyes would light up every time she tuned in to the Metropolitan Opera on the radio. I remember how she would hum the melodies for hours on end, clearly lost in the beauty of the music. Even though I struggled to understand the allure of the opera, I could see that it was a source of immense joy and escape for her, a chance to leave the monotony of everyday life behind. Sadly, she passed away last summer, leaving a gaping hole in my heart. But I find solace in the fact that I can still connect with her, even if it's only through the music she once cherished so deeply. Sometimes, when I listen to the same pieces she loved, I can almost feel her presence beside me, and for a fleeting moment, everything feels right again. But then reality sets in, and I am reminded of the painful truth: she is gone, and I miss her more than words can express.
Thank you for this pod-cast. Especially during this long pandemic. 👌🎈😊

Great voices & eternal compositions. Thanks a lot. From Ghana.
I'm not an expert on opera or arias, but I know which ones touch me with emotions, beauty and may even bring a tear to my eye. I'm so grateful to be able to appreciate the greats Pavarotti, Fleming, Norman, Domingo, to name but I few but most importantly Maria Callas who with Pavarotti takes me on the most beautiful journeys. Thank you 👍🏾🙏🏾
I’m laying in the sun with earphones in listening to these sublime arias. Thank you for posting.

Nice to hear such beautiful voices again, and of course the unforgetable voice of Maria Callas
Great selections. Thank you! That said, not to use Pavarotti's Nessun Dorma is perplexing. He owns it. His gift is simply incomparable.
Where has this been all of my life! I feel like I just found magic! My soul has awoken!
This song is an opera classical song with arias... it becomes crystal clear

I do wish that whoever put this wonderful compilation together had provided a program listing each aria and the artist(s) singing each.
Just cannot explain the love of opera, just love it.
I love lots of different types if music, but opera is the most beautiful, powerful, mesmerising and stirring. How can people not like it!!?

they don't like it because they were not introduced to if properly... in between a lot of yada yada, the aria introduces us to the music of the sublime. but we have to go through the yada yada first.
Really, really good choice of singers on each of these
Heaven if you are listening tell the Gods we are grateful, eternally blessed, the sound of angels on earth.
Fascinante escuchar tan bellas óperas . Obras valiosas y eternas.
Martin E. Gold I’m told by my father that my grandfather, upon arrival from Europe, and before he had found a place to stay, went directly to the Met to buy opera tickets. While I was growing up my parents went to the Met a fair amount, sitting in tenth row center seats, -something I can’t afford today. However, we have the pleasure of listening to this wonderful music wherever we are, and whenever we need uplifting.
I love this music, it relaxes me, motivates me, and makes me happy.
