Kenny I think you let the cat out of the bag with this one. I ran a Kidd 10/22 with a KRG Bravo chassis at a NRL competition. At the shooters meeting I asked what I needed to do during the change of positions in lieu of the ‘open bolt’, one of my fellow competitors poked fun at the rifle and me, he didn’t have much to say after I finished ahead of him that day. The real advantage of the 10/22 is the timed tiebreaker stages. I still love the RimX 22 rifle you built for me and switch between the two rifles for matches.

Receiver being threaded greatly increases accuracy. Add on a 30 MOA rail with a BRN receiver as well as the cost for bolt assembly and aftermarket stock and your within dollars from a factory BXR. I'm not sure how much the barrel and trigger were but surely it would be more cost effective to buy them both together with a Brownells receiver and bolt or better still one of the upgraded redesigned bolts and a stock ? As far as I can see when you go on to change your stock the only thing left of the Bergara is the receiver and bolt assembly 🙂

Receiver being threaded greatly increases accuracy. Add on a 30 MOA rail with a BRN receiver as well as the cost for bolt assembly and aftermarket stock and your within dollars from a factory BXR. You can add it up youself and see if you can beat 586$ (cost of a bxr). Trigger is the same price as a kidd or timney. As setup with the upgrades seen here is $1,200

@@EagleEyeShooting Yes I see ... I'm over the pond in the UK ..a Steel barreled BXR over here is £805 ($991) and Carbon £921 ($1,134) ! crazy since they come from Spain ? Could the BRN receiver be threaded by a gunsmith ?
Did you have issues with the stock BXR? Reliability and Accuracy of stock BXR?

Yes I have tried 3 factory BXR's, all had issues with reliability and accuracy untill these upgrades where done
Would be nice to see how it shot with the stock barrel . Its hardly a Bergara any more.

Check out accurate rifle systems 1022 chassis. They are made here in ohio and very good. Myself and 2 buddies have them and love them. Machined in arca rail. Additional rear set screw for non rear tang actions. A great guy runs the company as well. Also yes 1022s are serious competitors when set up correctly.

What, on average does it cost to build the BXR exactly as you’ve built this on?
@KrisSays

I'm interested in that as well...
The mag side that hangs up keeps it from hitting the ground so it don't break the plastic feed lips that's the plus side down side is out have to pull it out
What would it take to buy a rifle setup like this?

Contact my shop by searching DPGunworks on google. With the exact setup, it would be priced lower than a Kidd at about 1800-2K
I been thinking about getting this gun. Or a Ruger competition 10/22 Any suggestions

Couldn’t you glue or JB weld two real 10/22 mags together and get the same result with metal feed ramps? Awesome shooter.
@EagleEyeShooting
Жыл бұрын
The dual kross mags internals have a stronger spring and different carousel. They are built to run full auto so it has an advantage for reliability. Its also cheaper than buying two factory mags and the hassle of glueing them together. Caveat as you stated is the plastic feed ramps

@@EagleEyeShooting not sure the plastic feed ramps are a bad thing . Ruger s factory mags are inconsistent as hell .

How hard are the mags to load

@@EagleEyeShooting Have you seen or looked at the BRN-22 Brownells receivers? What's your opinion on those?
@EagleEyeShooting
Жыл бұрын
I have no experience with those receivers. But 10/22 accuracy typically falls short due to barrel droop from the wedge system. Kidd receivers require thermo fitting them to reduce barrel droop and tighten fitment. The BXR receiver can take traditional barrels or threaded. IMO a treaded barrel will be a better choice

I like the Accurate Rifles Systems 10/22 chassis best. 👍🏼 It is available in both single and dual attachment versions of the 10/22 but you need to let Joe know which one you want should you order one. Looks like links are not allowed!
