Eucalyx here! Wow, Randy! Didn't think you would actually make this video so soon! Really enjoyed your analysis of what was happening in the game. Interesting to see it from your perspective. I played a terrible opening - allowing Max_Shark to warp my Queen out should have been my death sentence. But due to those circumstances I had to get creative and the game became pretty exciting. I am sure White could have crushed me sooner or later, but I disagree with your example how White allegedly missed a win. - At 9:55min instead of using the black Ant to block the white Ant, I would have used the Mosquito. That leaves Black with another piece for defense (I refer to the Black Ant still pinning the White Beetle), even though releasing the beetle would not be a great trade-off. The moment the White Mosquito crawls on top of the Black Queen, I would have considered to release the pinned white Ant and move the Black Mosquito next to the White Pillbug. If White doesn't cover the Pillbug with his Mosquito which would mean letting the Black Queen escape, there is no way to prevent the black Mosquito warping the white Pillbug out the next move. Not sure how far this emergency defense maneuver would go in the long run, but it seems more effective than the options you suggested for Black. Regardless, I think you did a great job covering the Proximity Pillbug technique. Thank you!

Wouldn't a direct drop of the last white grasshopper at 09:56 at -wP be a better continuation as it is undefendable ??

OOps, I see now that at 10: 28 the black ant is in a slightly different position which makes the direct drop not playable anymore

9:06 why didnt white warp the grasshopper right next to the empty space next to the black queen?

On White's last move... the Pillbug moved into position to warp the grasshopper. Unfortunately for White, Black won before the White Pillbug had the chance to take the Kill Shot.

At 1:48 how does the queen move two spaces? Sorry, I'm a beginner here, new to the game.

Thanks for watching and thanks for asking the question. The White Mosquito, using the power of the adjacent Black Pillbug, is able to move the Queen. In his book 'The Canon of Hive Groundwork' world champion Joe Schultz uses the term 'Pillbug Harrasment'
