Thank you for the video, especially showing the grouping on the target. I picked up several boxes of PPU Match from SGAmmo very recently. In fact, I’ve had a harder time finding the S&B 180gr. FMJ (I do have a few boxes of that too). I came across some S&B 174gr. match but it was priced literally twice what the PPU match is/was selling for so I didn’t bother. I still have a few boxes of Russian manufactured 174 grain FMJ (Barnaul brand) plus tons of Tula / Wolf 148 grain light ball (Wolf branded - both LVE and Barnual manufactured ammo - same factory as “Brown Bear”, “Silver Bear”, etc. I have exactly one box of the Barnaul 203 grain soft point load that I probably will just hang onto to. Also good amount of PPU 150 grain soft point and S&B 180 grain soft point.

as far as surplus goes its still some of the cheapest you can get and is perfectly adequate for open sights, you can still get Sellier & Bellot silver tip for 70 cpr

That's main reason I got out of surplus was cost my dollar is better spent on modern stuff until I get that all squared up

S & B did make the Winchester. PPU. Did make the Hansen before the war.

PPU sux, they have good CuZn for reloading though. S&B 180gr is the joint!!! I take that Beast out to 1,250

I can’t seem to find any to save my life. We have Cabelas, Academy, and like 7 small gun shops here in Lubbock Texas. My friend has reloads at .75 a round. So I’m forced to buy reloads

If they are done right, hand loads are best for accuracy. But I know what you are saying, gun shops seem to be getting away from milsurp calibers, in favor of common calibers. I buy from gunbroker. I just bought 300 rounds of PPU off GB for .75/rd, plus shipping. It has many listings for around 1/round, or less in bulk, 500/750 rds. There is also a listing for S&B at 17.99/box. This is the best way to buy right now.

Even that is harder to answer, defense against what? Soft point should do more damage, but FMJ will penetrate better.
