@@jaecult I never got in fights but I was a straight edge hardcore kid in the 2000's. And i did a shit ton of what kids call "crowd killing" these days. We just called it mosh. I loved all the death metal and prog too though. I even went to the christian shows. Falling Cycle, Zao, Comeback kid. Fun shows man.

I can’t believe in 2016 i found my boys from the dropping of Laugh Tracks and holy fuck I remember seeing them at warped in 2017 and then later in the winter I seen them again

Love watching these videos and seeing which folks would catch receipts later on that night.

Moshpits look different theses days compared to the 90's. Back then we didn't throw elbows and wild fist. It was the shoulder, brunt of the arm and some shoving. And we didn't actually hurt one another. At 0:58 watch that guy land a devastating elbow to an onlooker who wasn't moshing. Disgusting.

bro i grew up going in mosh pits where everyone just ramming into eachother and pushing eachother and no one got hurt, it was intense and a little scary but it was relatively safe. And the whole point was that you could just say fuck it and hurl yourself into them and you would certainly risk knocking your face against the back of someone’s head by accident, but that was about the worst of it. And of course when someone went down everyone’s trying to pick them up, which i’m sure is still more or the less the case. But just fucking look at this, all those people who came out to see this sick band play their heavy music (which i love btw) and look at the sheer size of that pit, and look at everyone around it not getting in. How many people you count in that pit? not many right, compared to the size of it. The size of it is proportionate to the amount of people actively trying to get further away from it because a small number of people are crowd killing. I’ll never deeply connect with this type of heavy music because of how much crowd killing is a part of its live experience. Call me a pussy, call me a bitch, call me what you want but when someone is throwing the it fists around like that they are gonna scare people around them on a primal level, and it’s only them and the meatheads doing it too who are getting anything out of it. You want proof? just look at the ratio of people in the pit to avoiding it in this video. I fuckin hate this shit man i miss the way mosh pits used to be. Sorry to make it a “back in my day” type thing but that’s just the way it is to me. I got friends that like crowd killing and if that’s your steez no disrespect, but just know that it kinda blows for everyone around you.

I hate being that reddit ass guy just showing up and shitting on something cos it’s not my favourite version. I don’t think that invalidates my take but I totally see what you’re saying. I think throwing your fists is fine just try to stay within your own bubble. With that being said I think there’s a small difference between hardcore dancers and crowd killers

I got two nosebleeds at the last concert I went to, it’s really shitty cos not only do you have to deal with the pain and blocked nose, but you have to miss out on a lot of the concert

On the other Side , there's a reason why people still go there , and don't involve themselves in moshpits or whatnot. Still seeing people just randomly throwing elbows outside of the moshpit is personally a huge no go . Use the Moshpit for that shit or whatnot. But randomly assaulting people outside of the Pit. Personally i prefer death metal circle pits from hell. I got jumped for shoving hardcore kids off of me for punching me in the back of the head repeatedly for no apparent reason other than being on the outer circle of the pit. 🤷‍♂️ to each his own.
