Mortal Sin: Mother's Milk | THE BRENDAN OPTION 092
"You don't beat [sin], you are always in repentance. That's why it's so important to go to confession"
Join Fr. Brendan Kilcoyne for episode 92 of 'The Brendan Option' where he discusses the complexities of mortal sin.
"I regard people as basically good, brilliant and beautiful, incomparable beings, who have a profound, dangerous, and consistent inclination to rebellion against their Creator - to sin"

Brilliantly put. St. John Vianney said, “The good God will pardon a repentant sinner more quickly than a mother would snatch her child out of the fire.” Be alert but WHEN we fall, go to confession.
Thanks Padre
Good talk
Temptation never goes away. The fact of the matter is the closer we get to God the more cunningly deceptive they become.
For the algorithm
thanks for your insight Father
Thank you for reading the comments and addressing this point
Thank you Father!🙏
Fr., you described our fallen nature as well as our capacity for good really well here, well done.
Part two next week please “how to avoid mortal sin and overcoming temptations “ ….. 👌
More to be worrying about with the rising price of Diesel and electricity than mortal sin for most people nowadays but nevertheless mortal sin is very serious.priests need to take courage and speak about it from the altar. God bless you Fr and all at Immaculata
Thank you for much needed correction 🙏🏻
I like the weed killer metaphor… it’s indiscriminate! It kills the weeds but also the good roots.
Excellent video , Father ! Explained so much to me ! Love and gratitude from America.
Bless me Father, I've taken Rock Shandy for the Soul ..... agin !!!!

Fantastic to hear you as always, Father. Thanks for clarifying what mortal sin means. It explains why the Seven Deadly sins are described as such. Regarding addiction: giving up the fight seems to be the solution for many; they practise surrendering it to God instead.
Is there a hierarchy of mortal sins and if so where would I find this ? Surely some mortals sins which are confessed will need greater reparation than others ??
