I loved this video but it definitely illustrates why "hardcore full loot PvP" will never be really popular. Players are generally irritating goblins and unless you can put up with it (I can't) or you enjoy being reset by veteran players that enjoy crushing noobs, then the game becomes fairly unplayable.

I must admit, entering this game as a solo player is very difficult even if you join a guild, its much better to enter the game with a friend because youll be amazed how much just a team of 2 can do despite the risks of dying. Or..unless you luck out and meet the right ppl within a guild, the game can be very fun and helpful. Also, being in a guild has its benefits but at the end of the day, youll still need to do things solo sometimes or in a pair or just willing to do it cuz guild members cant always be there to help

You should have played it when Spiritism was a thing. Two Spiritist stream sniped a guy for 18 hours one time. Had him on the brink of tears. For those that do not know Spiritism is like playing a completely different game. You are able to go through a portal, become dead, roam the dead realm where normally you cant see the living. However Spiritism has a spell that allows you to see the living in this realm. So you can create a portal, come out, shoot someone with laser beam, kill them, then go back through the portal. You come out of the portal with 10 health and are naked, but you always make sure to time it when the person is in trouble with PVE/AFK etc. You get to choose when you attack and the other person has no idea you are there. The bad part was the books for spiritism were gated behind two hard bosses which most in the game could never do even with guilds. So you had these spirit gods roaming the world killing everyone playing a hack and slash full loot game. Its just as crazy and nuts as it sounds. I think they recently took out the spell that allows spiritism to see the living in the dead world to fix how broken it was. Because the game was so broken and probably still is spiritist could also solo the two bosses required for the books. They would open a portal, go through, shoot boss, jump back through portal. Coding was so poor that the boss never had time to react nor regened health. So if you had 1 good spiritist he could get friends books or even sell on market/ebay.

The thing with this game is that it relies completely on players for the content. There are no traditional quests like in most MMO's and hardly any story or lore. Its almost like a medieval fantasy "create your own adventure" tool. So if you can find a fun group of people it sure has its moments, but then again, that can be said for almost anything in life. It looks great though, the map is really big and immersive and I love the fact you dont get an ingame map that shows your position so you can get really lost and it forces you to learn and navigate through landmarks, like rivers, mountains and towns etc.

@@SmokeMyBlunt Well, MO2 is a relative succes. It still has about 1300 concurrent players well over a year after launch. Not bad since its a buy to play game from a very small indy team. Gets new updates, the elemental magic school just got added for example. And the fact that there is only one big server on one big open map means there are always plenty of people around in all the towns. Sure its not for everyone but even as a solo player there is stuff to do like gathering and crafting, or explore the map and hunt creatures, try out different builds with weapons and spells etc. Its actually pretty good to be honest and as long as you dont take more stuff with you than you can afford to lose the pvp is alright. The roads in and out the major towns can be dangerous but once your out in the wilds most people actually are mostly pretty friendly.

The world feels so empty whilst being huge. It actually made me depressed on how empty the game felt. It has a lot of potential if they added more things to do aside from pvp such as more dungeons, bosses, and loot to obtain.

True. This game needs more enemies like bandits around the world, more points of interest. There's too much empty land. And it's very rough game for solo players. You can't do anything if few players attack you. Numbers win, not skill. I think it's a problem in most open world PvP games unless it's designed in a really good way. This is a game where you *need* to be in a guild or group to deter people from murdering you. The issue currently is there's little to no guards in the game even in lawful places. To the point it's like the second you leave town you're in a lawless wasteland. That coupled with the veteran players being bored and just murdering lesser equipped people creates such a toxic environment that most new players leave Haven, get murdered, and just quit.

Your gripe with Conan is your own fault really. When browsing for a server you can see how 'old' the server is. If you're joining something that's been around for a while you know what you're getting into. Complaining about that is just showing your ignorance. As for MO2, a reset isn't necessary whatsoever. If you're a solo player the game is going to be much harder for you, but still playable. Just get yourself established and get some kind of word of mouth. If people start to recognize you, they will change how they feel about murdering you.

Nice to see Haven relatively empty compared to the mainland, all this while I thought most players were on Haven. There are several hundred instances of Haven if I recall correctly, though you can instantly teleport to other instances if your friends are on a different instance. Once on the mainland however, there are no instances and the real game begins. Thanks for this video, gave me good laughs here and there. Hope you're having fun. Feel free to add my character Leorias to your friends list if you need someone to tame a horse, craft a spear, Tindremic Guard armour or shield. I'm a solo player myself, it can be hard at times but not as difficult once you've gotten things up and running and can be quite rewarding. Also, all those players in town looking at you after you emerged from the Fabernum sewers was likely due to the gear owner you stole from telling his friends and guildmates about you. The game's one character system means your actions stay with you long after your criminal status wears off. Those players who heard about you will now remember what you did.

It gives me major Everquest 1 vibes, not sure why, but I think because of how grim-dark and high fantasy the aesthetics are and how serious, deep and punishing the characters and world seem. Great video, and it totally hits the nail on the head. As a veteran of Mortal Online 1, I can say with certainty MO2 feels unfinished because it is far from being done. The developer promises the same content from the first game, plus more, and they are far from delivering on the initial content. I highly recommend anyone into MMOs (full loot and not) to check out MO2.. but not until it has all of the content MO1 had. Right now the game is mostly full of veteran players building up for the expected increase in population as the developer slowly adds content. If the developer pulls it off (and I personally feel they will), this game will be one of a kind and worth the time investment. The biggest issue this game will face when it is ready is if enough people have been turned away from trying it too early or not. Honestly, the game should be an early access game on steam right now.

Great video, one thing that's truly unfortunate about MO2 is the developers have been very hostile towards any sort of negative feedback. When the game first released, there were waves of hundreds of bans from their discord, reddit groups, website forums etc just for people who were asking about queue times and such. I like crafting and selling my items, I played MO1 for a long time and had hope for MO2. They seem to have just taken MO1 gave it better graphics and made it worse in every other way. The fact they want to charge $15 a month for this product that's in pre-alpha at best is insulting to the consumers tbh.

@@Eventide215 I've played around 1000hrs exclusively solo. The only time I run with people is the people I meet in game. I've made more friends, and had more laughs playing DayZ than anything else I've ever done. Seriously. That reputation is from console, official servers (which are not moderated at all), and DayZ youtubers that do clickbait "Server admin DESTROYS cheater" (LUL) content. Are you going to die? Yes. A lot. But if you play effectively moderated community servers, like the one's I've suggested, you won't be dealing with blatantly toxic people (ie hate speech, etc). The struggle and difficulty of the game is the part of the charm, and what makes git'n gud so rewarding. There are a lot of people that will kill you and take all your loots if they know you're new, BUT there are also just as many people like me that are PUMPED to sherpa new players. It goes on sale all the time. Try it, say hi to people, put yourself out there, die a bunch. I promise, if you play the servers I suggested (except maybe the Zero servers, looking back now it's pretty KOS-y over there. Buncha brutal savages haha), and give it a real chance you will find a lot of laughs and a SUPER welcoming, warm, and supportive community. That's been my experience at least. Whenever I get jumped by multiple people, or talked to on mic with hate speech and such I suddenly get tons of anxiety and makes me almost quit the game entirely. So what I've been told about DayZ is based on my anxiety. If I could find a group of friends to play it with I'd likely enjoy it though. Mo2 is lit; the drama and stories that will unfold between guilds when we actually get territory control should be amazing … it’s a hard game to keep your friends playing but joining a guild is addictive , as you will soon find yourself only playing MO if you join a guild but alone you will most likely quit very quickly . In MO1 we had a long + rich history of all sorts of wars , drama, espionage and sieges in game and on message boards (which was half the fun , recounting battles and seeing who was willing to lie to cover up their loss and help their hubris) until MO1 was “abandoned” for lack of a better term and the forums were wiped due to a number of eff ups on star vaults side (indie devs should always protect their games with trusted anti cheat and should never link account databases with real life info like SV did) . This game and it’s genre definitely has potential to be the future of mainstream gaming (or at least bigger than the small niche it fills now) the question is how do they get the normies interested in these types of games when they can’t just press a button to respawn with all their gear , without ruining the original vision of the game ; which ultimately makes it so gritty and addictive. We need more first person full loot MMOs is all I’m saying 😅
