Ever watch High level tournament play? It's the most boring shit you've ever seen. It's all about the "Optimum" Fuck fun, fuck interesting, fuck all that. What does the maximum damage? You'll have entire movesets and gimmicks boiled down into a couple of combos and special moves. I saw one, one time where a guy actually did a Super move/combo (However you want to call it) and the announcer spent the ENTIRE match chastising him over what a "waste" it was to use his meter in such a "sub-optimal" way. Nevermind the fact that the guy won.
