Those platforms before the Reptile fight and Shao Kahn's hammer were painful if you played with a newbie.

Why didn't they make more MKs like this? Make a sequel with better improved game mechanics and today's graphics and Ed Boon's got himself a hit game.

this game is my childhood. i grew up watching his vids wanting to play these games to being able to play them on emulator and man, timeless hours of watching shaolin monks and playing it.

This game brings back some awesome childhood memories,lol,I still remember how hard it was to find reptile,I was stuck for weeks on end

Yeah Especially when I was Fighting Shao Kahn, and everytime I kick his ass in his second state in that game, I always got Owned, and it just PISSED ME OFF AND RUINED MY EXPECTATIONS OF MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!!!!. Luckily, this Video Walkthrough in which I saw in top-secret, is amazing.

Let’s all just agree they ps2 beat em ups were and still are good games

this game is in my top games of all time. I would LOVE to see a sequel, or a remake. It has replay value with the skills/leveling system, the combat is really well rounded and fun, and you can throw this on an emulator to really jack up the graphics.

I miss this game. The intro is so good.

Even if it's 2020 this game will stand out as a classic PS2 game and be apart of my childhood along Deception and Armageddon.

I was literally 3 years old when this came out & its my favorite MK game .. I was playing this when I was 5 years old 😭 and played it a lot throughout my childhood ..

This game is awesome! When people heard that a new MK spinoff action/adventure game was being released they immediately thought of those two piss poor spinoffs Sub Zero Mythologies and MK: Special Forces and steered clear of Shaolin Monks. They finally nailed the MK spinoff with this one, but hardly anybody gave it a chance.

i remember playing this with my brother when i was younger. No game in the world i don't care in my opinion this beats next gen games, idc about the graphics at all its really fun!

DuckLords this game i remember i play with my brother i lose at the boss shaok khan and my game was broken.i buy a new one and it also broke and we play and we play it with patient we defeat shaok khan in a part of the mission when getting A sword there are a secret arena when you hit a certain place

One of the best and underrated games in history.....loved the setup the fighting functionality and being able to make a 200 hit combo... Amazing... Now i wanna play it again... So many memories

I miss this game, I remember playing this game with my uncle when I was small

I loved this game. So much fun and replay potential. I went and found an first gen xbox on eBay for $50 and bought it for the sole purpose of buying this game again. I found the game for $5. One of the best $55 bucks I ever spent. Still play it tk this day.

Honestly i remember playing this with my cousin on the ps2, so many good memories. Doing the bosses, goofing around, trying to get maximum combos. The 1v1 system was also so good imo. My favourite MK game of all time, would still play it today if i could.

If this had been released to the PC, maybe modders would have created a Tower mode by now. It would be cool to play as Cage, Kitana, Reptile and Baraka. Unfortunately you can't even play vs the CPU on the versus mode. I remember it having so many cool looking stages too. Cheat engines already allow you to play as Ermac, Jax, Mileena, Kano (secret 'bosses', Jax fights alongside you vs Kano) and the bosses, but most are pretty glitchy. But imagine if this game allowed you to play as all these other characters... I really wish hardware was better back then.

Very similar to being in a relationship, with another physical human being (where time and effort are necessary). I'd say it was a perfect metaphor.

At the 27:59 mark is where you are supposed to shoot the moon. It's easier from there and it's easier with Liu Kang since he can shoot more than one shot in succession. Sooner or later you will that the spot and the coin will appear. You just have to keep shooting. Since Liu Kang will move a tiny bit after each shot, one of them will eventually make the coin appear.

I love this game! I remember when I and my cousin plays this game a lot. It is very satisfying when we've completed all of the objectives, missions, side-missions, unlockables, and secrets throughout the game. Good ol' days!

It is funny but co-op is actually harder than the single player since you have a shared HP and the camera can't be splitted which means you have to keep running near to each other.

Keeps telling enemies to "get over here". I know a character that would be perfect for that
