My grandmother (she passed away in 2018) bought this for me when i was 14 (in Christmas of 1995). My older brother (he passed in April of 2019) played this ALL day!! Fun times!!

This version of Mk3 has 2 missing points: 1. Sheeva doesn't have that creepy male voice. 2. The Cementery stage was not included.

One of my all-nighter games when I was 18. The other being UMK3 on SNES as well

brings back so many memories. mk3 and mk series in general was so creepy, cryptic and gore during that time. mk3 had some of my favorite stages with excellent spooky background. The soundtrack also was the best of the series.

Around late ‘96, I used to play this game in the morning before going to school in first grade.

This ui and sounds - best 2D ui I've seen and models too, all kool

So glad I have these games

A lot of nostalgia in this game for me. While I don't like it as much as MK2, but this game was (and still is) a very good game. My guy is Stryker in this game! I consider this version to be runner-up to the PS1 version (which I also have) and better than the Genesis version (which I also have).

Best mk game with creepy music

This is the version I had! I didn't know that they had ultimate mk3 until later for snes me and a buddy played ultimate at the arcade! I played the arcade umk3 before this and was confused no scorpion because he was bad ass on ultimate! One thing I miss about old school gaming was waiting for a game magazine with the complete move list for the current mortal kombat games!

Play MK, MK2 and UMK3 on Xbox 360.. It's the best ever port seeing how it's literally the arcade

One of the first games I ever learned to play and my Brother used to beat me real bad before then. We used to play this for hours. Still have it and the SNES. It’s been years since we’ve played.

Me and my cousin used to go to the garage and play this I miss this game

-1 no end of the world fatality (half screen distance or more) hold block up up forward down. Note it’s easier if you roll down.

Yeah, having the Block disabled really hurt as you can't perform that fatality. The replay came out a whole lot better which included the end of the world fatality. - kzread.info/dash/bejne/mqWjzdGIY8iWf8o.html

I had both the SNES and Genesis version of this game as a kid. Both of them are good,but I prefer the Genesis version over this one. Great video though. Brought back a lot of memories.

Andre Lewis As of now I just currently own the Genesis version of MK3. Had to buy it again,since I got rid of my original copy YEARS ago. But,back in the day,I owned all of the major ports of MK1-MK3. As far as MK3's concerned,my favorite port was the Genesis version. Not only because I was a Genesis fan,but also because I thought the graphics looked more crisp and the sound was better,compared to the SNES port. I did have the game for the PS as well. That version was pretty much close to arcade perfect,other than the loading times. That's what ruined the PlayStation port for me. Loaded way too much. Best MK...well,my personal favorite anyway,was always MKII. Now THAT on the SNES blew the Sega Genesis version out the window!

+Corey Cooper (MetroidFREAK21) If you want to record a real console, I suggest the elgato. But since I am using an emulator to record these, I am just using the built-in avi to record tool inside the emulator itself or I use FRAPS. I hope this somewhat helps.

I remember waiting for this game to come out on the SNES. I was so disappointed with the conversion that I ended up selling the game to someone else. When Mortal Kombat trilogy came out on PS1 I was soooo happy with the game after I bought it. :)

Is it truth that Ed Boon the Mortal Kombat designer has said in interviews that in MK2 still are some secrets and hidden characters besides Smoke Jade and noob saibot and no one has not discovered yet? Just curious MK2 is my favorite game of all time.

I doubt that it’s been nearly 30 years someone would’ve found it by now. Mk2 was my fav mk game of the originals and I loved mk1. I played mk2 obsessively at my cousins house but owned mk1 wanting to own mk2. I couldn’t find it but I found mk3 and while at the tme still wanted mk2 I still loved mk3….todsy I think I’ve overplayed mk2 to the point where having had so many years of missing out on mk3 it has brought mk3 value agsin. I miss the snes mk3 choose your destiny theme and how ominous it felt. and motaro was amazing. While I did favor kintaro over motaro it was a close one and preferred either over goro by a long shot. Still though kintaro has returned in armageddon mk9 and other games also mk11 as a Camaro and motaro hasn’t returned since mk3 itself so it’s only added to motaros value as a sub boss and mk3 as a game due to that rarity. Kintaro is cool but him and goro have now been overused while motaro has become this rare jewel of sub bosses that hasn’t come back since mk3 and no Armageddon motaro was not the same so I’m not counting that abomination.

Basically, I went to gamehacking.org/ and added the game genie codes to the game. I was playing off an emulator, so I added those codes to the emulator so I could cheat in the game.

Qué decepcionante resultó esta version del juego comparandola con las anteriores, los personajes eran muy pequeños y la jugabilidad era un desastre, no se podía encajar los combos al oponentes a no ser que lo inmovilizaras con ciertos personajes como Zero o Smoke, la dificultad era exagerada debido a la mala jugabilidad y no a la destreza del jugador. Lo bueno definitivamente la música, los efectos de sonido como el grito del jaguar cuando haces algun Animality que sólo se escucha en esta versión y en la Trilogy del Saturn si mal no recuerdo. Los escenarios tambien destacan en un entorno más urbano a diferencia de sus predecesores. Un cartucho destinado a terminar en el bote de la basura debido a su mala conversión.
