Ed boon once said in an interview that every new game they are attempting to make the “ultimate” version of a character to showcase improvement. Scorpion for example being my main fighter I feel is indeed at his best in the previous entry, given he had multiple tools to his disposal. Not only did he have his specter elemental abilities, he had access to the Katanas & spear centric move sets. I can still appreciate MK1 and it’s redefining of certain characters. The feel of the gameplay such as speed and aerial mechanics were appreciated additions. I do feel that Kuai li ang scorpion is more limited in his combos, yet mix ups and air launcher/ attacks are satisfying. I also do enjoy the functionality of the new kusarigama.

Yeah mk1 scorpion is pretty boring in comparison too what mk11 scorpion had. Even his design is pretty simple.

Final Verdict: MK11: Superior Graphics, Better Character Animations and plays better. MK1: Effects improvement, Map background improvement but with downgraded graphics. MK1 is a nope for me.

I don't think a more vibrant color palette is a downgrade. The stages have much more fidelity and improved texture quality over 11. The character models are also more expressive with facial animations and have more impressive light reflection on the skin whereas the skin on mk11 characters can look a bit plastic in certain lighting.

​​@@hehehehaw8346Well, that's a matter of taste, but the move customizations aren't stupid, far from it. in fact they add to the combat, you can still use your character's basic movements, And some special ones you can change to suit your taste and optimize gameplay.

Bro half these comparisons aren’t even right like scorpion has a dash in mk11 but u compare mk1 dash to mk11 teleport????????? and thats just one example

So far...I like MK 11 better. Idk I was just expecting more with the story in the new one and all we got was a rehash of MK9.

It's actually bad that mk1, after.4 years, a full generation change and having john Tobias back, at least as a consultant, still struggles to keep up with the details mk11 touched on in every aspect. The only thing mk1 has going for itself is the happy-themed, busy backgrounds.

@@hehehehaw8346 i know a friend who thinks mk1 sucks. They're all just opinions. The objective reality is that you can compare mk1 models with mk11 models and somehow, mk11 on pc/series x feels a lot smoother than on mk1. Maybe the backgrounds wre to blame because they're too vivid compared to mk11's, but in terms of character designs.and designs, you can either comoare them side by side yourself or watch any comparison video. Mk11 models have a touch of that fine polish mk1 models just don't

I love mk1 story, design and graphics but I like mk11 fight mechanics better…at least with my favourite characters like Kitana. In mk11 she’s a great fighter with a lot of mixups, safe attacks and she’s also an amazing presser but in mk1…Idk need some more time in the practice mode

Mk11 has a better character design and texture,you are fooled by the mk1 brightness, the charactera are so skinny that look like npcs...

MK1 is just MK11 but with a Street Fighter (6) overlay, (look at the fireball of liu kang, make me remind of Guile) and MK1 it’s slow! (In movement, less action). It reminds me of fifa 22, due it’s more like a football game, bouncing players (in a combo) I cannot even hit someone online. I like mk11 more. It’s more for the grown ups, more blood, darker and mean. Mk1 just did the same as halo did (going back in the style) thinking all of them can make a OG metal gear solid style game in fighting. I’ve dropped halo and the whole Xbox! Bought the PlayStation, mk11 and mk1 Graphics in mk1 are sweet, mk11 also. But please stop making games like them 1992. Just make Def Jam Fight for New York (and other titles like Midnight dub edition club , mk3 (with the 3 square boxes) backwards compatible! For example!)) Upscale the graphics and BOOM! Mk1 is lame for now, but I just play both of them, wonder what will happend with updates in mk1. Conclusion: mk11 a 10, mk1 a 7. And damn I love that PlayStation after years of xbox. The p.s. interface and menu is wow! !!! (But a real copy of Xbox is) just better, you go Sony!

Mortal Kombat 11 is better the new MK looks watered down to me completely and it reminds me too much of MK9 🙄

@@Choppa773 No, MK1 literally has more ways to fight with kameos, TYM, and survive. There are also more fatalities and brutalities. The only reason MK11 has better character designs is because MK1 is meant to be a reboot with all characters starting off basic. Meanwhile MK11 is within an ongoing MK universe where the characters got access to more resources to upgrade their armor. But that can be changed with skins, there are already so many skins in MK1 that look better than MK11 skins. And the character models also look a lot more realistic and better.

@@sowsow6677 Not to make a fuss, but all the skins I have seen so far in MK1 have been yellow, orange and red with tattoos. Like whose bright idea was that? I understand there are palettes, but the grind to get them is kind of long. It honestly feels like MK1 is like the DOA 6 back when MK11 was released.
