i was fighting in mk1 on local mode, then i noticed that there was a delay on the move set and block button. (we have a ps5 in our school at lunch) Now i know that the movement in the setting was moved. thanks

Do I need to switch my block button to r1 in order to do this effectively? I notice thats what everyone seems to be doing but I like blocking with r2 the defaults r1 for blocking feels so bad for me

I personally left my block button the same but it’s all about preference, if it feels better for you then go for it

I think this has to do with the fact that r2 is a trigger, so when used as a button with just an on/off function, rather than a gas pedal for example, which has a range, the button can be active 1 or 2 frames sooner. The trigger is only effective when pressed half way down, so your blocks can come out just slightly slower. Some people don't like this. It definitely makes wave dashing "harder" but if you change your grip slightly you can adjust for it. I don't know what the high level competitive community has to say about it, but the idea of changing my block button breaks my brain so I use r2. But if you're just trying to wavedash effectively and can make the adjustment, r1 would be a little easier

No experienced player plays on long cause if ur character has a horizontal special move and a forward footsie normal on the same button it makes backdash into it a pain

Either the Hori Fighting Commander Octa, or Victrix Pro BFG. The Octa has an 8 gate arcade stick like analog, and great D pad. The Victrix has interchangeable buttons analog dpad and back paddles. The Victrix pricey but worth it for fighting games.

Im playing the switch version and my best suggestion for smash bros gamers. Make the controls similar to smash bros. It will help you in the long run. Put L or L1 as the cameo and put R or R1 as grab. And as for blocking I suggest putting R2 and ZR . That way you'll have the best controls and never forget smash bros melee.

idk about the long input window suggestion. There's so many moves that come out after back->forward->button. It's real easy to have these come out when you are moving back and forth and trying to do normals. Shortening the special input window reduces the chance of this.

FF+Block to get it started, then after you do that twice you can to just one F+block. F+block
