Like He-Man, Transformers, more currently Monster High (though that show is a little less unhinged), the artists can go ham with the characters and lore and one liners, because no exec cares. Fun fact: "Mort" is pronounced almost exactly like the German word "Mord", meaning "murder". At one point this is mentioned in the German version of the Penguins of Madagascar show, I think when the main characters think he was killed by the gorillas. They say something along the lines of "I hope his name didn't come true", I think.

Mort is literally Gunther from Adventure Time; cute, small, childish, both stupid and intelligent at the same time, older than anybody thinks, and truly a chaotic monster on the inside. I wouldn't be surprised if Mort truly is a monster created from before time itself as well, and that it isn't that he has the DNA of a bunch of different animals and objects, but a bunch of animals and objects are distant relatives of HIM.

Ive rewatched this so many times over the past year and a hlf that ive known about it and its honestly so amazing that i know everything that happens in the video nearly by heart and im still highly enertained and instrested, which is a testement to how intresting these videos are. The dreaded algorithm has performed its cursed dance and once again we are called to study the horrible truths of a being outside the realm of human comprehension. Anyways, I guess I know what I'm doing for the next 2½ hours.

When I first saw this I thought he was exaggerating, then I watched All Hail King Julien and realized everything he says is true. If anything he's underselling it. He didn't even mention the giant scorpion who "only ever ate that one baby".

All Hail King Julien is so fucking wild that all this Mort stuff is barely unique in terms of wackiness. Maurice is apparently an aye aye that was intended to be sacrificed to sentient bells when he was a baby but rescued by baby King Julien. Julien's uncle has a secret program to hypnosize the lemurs of the kingdom to become assasins, and then the whole thing turned out to be a failure so he killed all his intended assasins. And then there's the only doctor in the kingdom who is an unlicensed fake doctor that is trying to revive corpses apparently. This doctor has done so successfully at least one, reviving the corpse of an athlete, and then Mort went on to have a romantic relationship with the undead corpse. I can keep mentioning more but I'll stop there for now.

The emotion and reaction while coming to the end of the theory is so perfect.
