I remember opening my windows, getting a box fan & taking my og xbox out of my tv cabinet while playing morrowind because it would get soo hot. All for the 5ft view distance.

Ok ok ok - I feel like I need to say this. The fact that the XBOX 360 CAN emulate the original XBOX is literally BLACK MAGIC. IT should NOT be able to do it - but it does. Some programmer at xbox during this time must have sold his soul to make it happen. Several emulation channels have discussed it - the really impressive thing is that the xbox 360 does not have any of the hardware that is contained in the OG xbox - so it is 100% software emulated. Very impressive.

Yep. I mean, the fact that there's multiple better Switch emulator projects than there are OG Xbox ones speaks volumes

Skyrim was so good I thought it was a standalone game for years. Never heard of Morrowind or Oblivion, so I tried to play them, my character got diabetes and passed out after throwing 3 punches. Haven't played the game since due to being so heinously disrespected. Obviously a 10/10 game.

Morrowind is my favorite game. My sister and I used to play it together on the OG xbox, we would make characters and take turns playing. It has a real soft spot for me

I first played Morrowind normal edition for the original xbox... I always just became a collector and lived out of the balmora khajiit traders house. I was like 5-6 btw... And yes I'm salt that the later games cut back most the mechanics from morrowind.

I don’t know what every single difference is between the first version of Morrowind and the GOTY Edition, but I’m absolutely certain the atrocious performance is hardware related on your end. I have the GOTY edition on Xbox, and asides from the Save File Image being a pixelated mess, performance has always been good and stable irregardless of what model I play on, whether it be the original Xbox, 360, or base One. Also, the Xbox version having Cheat Codes is legitimate. There’s three I know of, and they restore Health, Stamina, and Magica. Restore Health- Black White Black Black Black Restore Magica- Black White White Black White Restore Stamina- Black Black White White Black

People always overlook/willingly forget stuff like that. The vast, vast, vast majority of players on PC were playing it exactly like this or worse. Same with something like Half-Life. It boggles my mind how the Master Race always acts like every game they ever enjoyed was 60 fps without any exceptions all the time.

Yeah, many things he complained about (draw distance, cell loading, 30fps) did exist on PCs as well. But the PC version always had enemy health bars and the menu was inexcusable.

The point of this video was just to showcase that *this* specific version of Morrowind was shite. I never claimed that this game didn't tun perfectly when it came out. What I will say is that this was made backwards compatible YEARS after Morrowinds initial release and ran worse than it did on the Original Xbox.@@mightilyoats2729

I mean, that's pretty fair. I play the game on my modern PC and the frame rate is 300 to 400. But tech does change rapidly, so I can imagine it back then.

I play morrowind on xbox. Its interesting to try out exploits without the option of console commands.

Ah morrowind my favorite game. I remember spending 2 hours as a kid printing out the cheat codes for the xbox version from gamefaqs i think. All i did i was boost my speed and run around for weeks😂

The OG Xbox version was the first time I've ever experienced this game. It was a really huge and daunting game, possibly the biggest on the entire system, almost unbelievable that something like it could exist on a console at the time with how vast and deep Vvardenfell is and how many distinctive NPCs exist. It was also really buggy though. With every save, the "blocks"/save game file size would expand the more changes happen to the world and it was getting worse and worse the longer your file continued. Good times, but I'm glad I'm playing on PC now haha

I played it on xbox game pass a while ago only thing i disliked was that there isnt any toggle run but at least you get to conserve stamina more often for fights.

It's pretty cool people still play Morrowind on XBOX. For me, I've been playing it on PC and I have fun with the game.

Star wars knights of the old republic is basically unplayable on Xbox 360. Was very disappointed because one of the main reasons , I bought a xbox 360 a few years ago.

I play the GOTY version on Game Pass and I love it!

I played it backwards compatible on the Xbox one and that's my only experience with it. I was about to ask if this is the same... BUT ITS NOT. This is way worse. (I had to try time and time again to enjoy it on xbox one hackwards compatibility, but i think if i tried 360 id just give up)

I didnt have a computer that could run Oblivion like my neighbour, so I got Morrowind for my xbox as the next best thing. I had fun but yes it was some clunk lmao

To think the same console that gave us GTA 5 is the same one that can barely get Morrowind to function😂 I remember downloading and playing this on my laptop a couple years after i played oblivion & Skyrim, I couldnt stomach the combat & walking😂 at this point in time, it feels like a mobile game😅

@@phil331 1. Graphics. This one is obvious and is to be expected from a game this old so this isn't a big one. 2. The combat system. It's already fairly clunky but the dice roll system for your attacks landing is VERY annoying early game. Fighting multiple enemies is absolute torture. It becomes bearable by the mid game as you boost your stats and get better gear but it makes the early game an absolute slog. If you're playing a magic build you may as well spend the first hour or two creating a few "practice" spells and spamming them to level up your magic skills because doing it naturally is a ballache. Weapon skills don't have this option so you have to go through the first few hours of the game hitting shit over and over to raise your skills. I can see why people usually end up dropping Morrowind in the early game. 3. Walking speed. Again, this is mostly an early game issue as you end up creating spells that make travelling trivial but the default walking speed is dreadfully slow. 4. The wall of text. I don't mind this so much but having to read paragraph after paragraph of dialouge to figure out what to do next can be annoying. Following directions instead of having a map marker also isn't that big of a deal but sometimes the directions are painfully bad and in some cases aren't actually correct.

isn’t much different has both dlcs and super fun been playing morrowind on the xbox series s it’s an amazing experience

I have played through the game on Xbox 360 and it's not bad, the unmodded game on pc isn't much better
