Only Mozzer has the balls to sing a song like this...all the faux anti establishment rebels would never have the guts. His LP will be absolutely slaughtered by the guardian and it's souless ilk . One more reason why he is the greatest living Englishman..cheers from Manchester

Morrissey sings for all of us that still have an identity, have not lost our sense of self- still stick to our own moral codes and have not had our sensitivities abraded by a sick and self loathing society. He truly is a great bright light that shines in this world.

They tried to cancel him, but what they really did was liberate him. We're lucky to have one of the greatest living artists willing to sing the truth. These days it takes a lot of bravery to speak out on anything that truly matters. Obviously Moz has taken more than his share of abuse, but it hasn't shut him up. He's been at his best amidst all these attacks.

Bravery my ass...this from a singer who was too gutless to proclaim his Irish blood in his younger days because he feared backlash from English fans while The Troubles in Northern Ireland were happening...Doing nothing to fight the scourge of British soldiers in our country , waving his flowers around while we carried out our duty defending our nation. I look back in anger at the silence of cowards.

This song is incredible. I'm from Manchester and worked a few streets away from St Anne's Square - the place where they held a vigil a couple of days after the bombing. I went with everyone from work, and stood there, absolutely furious, as everyone sang that bloody song, along with chants of Stronger Together - whatever that means. On the night of the bombing, Manchester was failed by so many people who should have been there to protect us from a dangerous ideology and violent individuals. Don't Look Back In Anger? I can assure you, I will, and I do.

Musically reminiscent of Bowie's 'Rock and Roll Suicide'. If the lyrics referenced a far-right terrorist attack it would be lavished with praise in The Guardian and on BBC radio. It is evidence of the phenomenon he is describing that it will be attacked instead. And, whatever your politics, that is a deeply unsettling reality.

Agreed, Alfie. He is very courageous to write this song, because it will be vilified. England, in reality, is finished in so many ways, and we are forbidden to mention it. I am not right wing, and believe in freedom, but these very subtle changes, and control, makes me despair

This is an amazing song. His best in a long time reminiscent of of the more tragically beautiful smiths songs though here that melancholy is used to make a very serious point hit harder. People don’t want to confront the reality of why things like the Manchester bombing happend and theres and there government’s responsibility so they sing happy songs to numb the pain. Morrissey infinitely cares more for the people of Britain than Johnny marr does. Manchester’s theres so much to answer for indeed

gives u that warm feeling in ur stomach. so freeing to hear the truth and a man sharing his real feelings. guilty power trying to obfuscate, but morrissey comes thru clear as a bell in your heart go easy on the killer is profound, the irony of responsible parties never being held accountable bcoz of mental slavery. it transcends the event itself and reflects on all the horrors inflicted on humanity and how those in power demand we hold our tongues and accept the violence they organize. morrissey the last real hiphop artist that's still in the public eye somewhat, despite the segregationists' best efforts also simultaneously morrissey's use of pov and empathic immersion suggests the human worlds lost to violence, worlds quickly written off by wealthy curators of empathy and expression. u can feel morrissey's heart is ultimately w the innocent, stolen lives

A difficult subject to sing about, but he got it about right. I assure you, I will look back in anger till the day I die. And the anger continues, virtually every week somewhere in Europe a so called asylum seeker commits an act of barbarity against the host peoples who gave him refuge, homed him and fed him, and as Morrissey said at the time, the policy of allowing hundreds of thousands of them to come never changes. To show fake virtue is the only permitted response, we must never consider the safety or wishes of us Europeans. Bless you Morrissey.

@@gringoloco4 hell naw! 😂 what I’m saying is that you cannot have outrage for one thing and not call out your own country. Don’t forget the atrocities towards the Scottish and Irish. Not sure why moz being Irish defends old England and not to mention the racism from the English towards Irish immigrants
