I gave my son, who is in his 30s, a tin whistle for Christmas. He just messaged me that tin whistles are great, and he found an awesome site. I was not too surprised to learn that his discovery was... Stephanie's site! Now I'm hoping my 3 grandchildren will follow their dad. 😊❤

I am currently writing about a man from Ireland at a talent show contest. During an interview he says his grandfather gets up and does a little jig every morning. The interviewer asks, "What does that look like?" So, he does the dance in response. Since his friend plays a tin whistle, originally inspired to do so because of song from "The Inner Light" when a tin whistle was used in the episode. I often come back to your videos for references on music and how different songs would sound on that style of instrument. I hope you don't mind being the inspiration behind scenes in an upcoming novel. :-D Thank you for doing this series. :) You never know who you're inspiring.

Greetings from China! (a university prof. here for 34 years). I love your tutorials, and so thankfulAs a teen, I listened almost exclusively to music from Ireland and Scotland. It must have been in the blood because it was 30 years later that I found that, over 400 years ago,I had Glasgow ancestors who moved to Ireland. The tin whistle is now so popular in China that we can buy them online here. Thanks again, CutiePie. I've no idea how many channels are on KZread but you're in my Top 5!

Thanks for doing this. With regards to fast playing. There is a school of thought that equates faster with better. All too often I see your players ramping up speed at the cost of expression. I play this on the bagpipes. It really does not have be played at warp10. Your fast playing is plenty fast enough. Your playing was accurate as well as held and cut and importantly it was entertaining. It is a dance tune. Think of how fast you would skip energetically to the tune, that would be the target bpm . Love your vids

@@CutiepieTinWhistle I used to play this for dancers and it was the dancer's choice whether I plaid fast or medium. Usually this depended on the age and experience of the dancer. Now that I'm retired maybe I can get back into that type of playing. But for now I'm very happy and enthisiastic to rediscover the celtic landscape through other instruments. NOW I can play Morrison's on the whistle.

@@CutiepieTinWhistle I can't find anything for the whistle. Maybe it would work on something other than d. There are lots of variations. One is ocarina. The following is conical flute. Thanks again. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hoyoy7SLcajSf7w.html

It's a Tony Dixon DX005, it's quite a pure and clean sounding whistle, though the audio is edited here, so it doesn't sound quite like that. I do have a review for it though: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eoCpmNSdlJTNd5M.htmlsi=iwtuno3zQoVuCWZr
